I don't think that's true: Chris Beard, I and many believe, would come here and relish the opportunity I believe.
Mick Cronin would too. He really tried to get hired by Louisville last spring.

Jim Coyle has put out there 40 percent of the fan base is wanting Beard that's almost half so if Indiana hired McCollum the fan base would be pissed we hired another Archie. This is not football where you can take a chance since its Indiana football this has to be a great hire or shit will hit the fan quickly. The fan base will unite if we win. Nobody will care that the coach came from a mid-major or D2 program (if that's the case).
I never heard that one lol. I know Dakich and some want Alford which is comical now.I don’t think you need to worry about dividing the fan base. That’s probably the least of our worries. You have to remember, this is the same fan base you’re talking about that actually believes Keith Smart is a viable candidate.
You're ignoring that I said fans will unite "if we win."Jim Coyle has put out there 40 percent of the fan base is wanting Beard that's almost half so if Indiana hired McCollum the fan base would be pissed we hired another Archie. I dunno. IU basketball has sucked for 30 years now. What’s another four years of suckage?Jim Coyle has put out there 40 percent of the fan base is wanting Beard that's almost half so if Indiana hired McCollum the fan base would be pissed we hired another Archie. One way of looking at it is we are due! Odds are somewhat in our favor.we’ve screwed it up for 25+ years so my enthusiasm we make the right decision is pretty low. Afraid we end up with a Tom Crean 2.0.
so you're telling me there's a chance? One way of looking at it is we are due! Odds are somewhat in our favor.
Davis: Miss
Samson: Hit turned miss due to violations
Crean: Hit as he brought us back and 2 B1G champs, not long term answer
Archie: Miss
Woody: Miss
We are due to hit on this next one.
Coyle's a little overly emotional and tends to exaggerate.Jim Coyle has put out there 40 percent of the fan base is wanting Beard that's almost half so if Indiana hired McCollum the fan base would be pissed we hired another Archie. Unfortunately, the norm is over 4 years with a large buyout. The candidates have too much leverage to accept anything less. The whole “They need 3-4 years” thing should be out the window. They get 2 years. And if that second year looks promising for a third, they get the third to prove it. If they aren’t looking great by year two, BYE. Because that’s how it’s been 3 decades of dog shit.
IMHO, Keith Smart would have been a better hire 4 years ago. Agree?I never heard that one lol. I know Dakich and some want Alford which is comical now.
Oh I agree but more worried if he doesn't win. You're ignoring that I said fans will unite "if we win."
Some fans might be initially unhappy with the hire if it's not their preferred guy, but all will be forgotten if he starts stacking up Ws.
I’ll have nothing to do with it. But Dolson and Whitten are at least as smart as I am, so it won’t be Beard. Count on it.He’s made a list
And checking it twice
Don’t let Zeke determine if naughty or nice
Winning days are coming B town
40% of the fan base that is on this forum. I kind of have my doubts that this forum is a good example of a microcosm of Hoosiers fans.Jim Coyle has put out there 40 percent of the fan base is wanting Beard that's almost half so if Indiana hired McCollum the fan base would be pissed we hired another Archie. I don’t know where to start. IU has so many options and decades of experience. The Administration and Trustees are looking at this as a “hold my beer post.”
I think BM would be a winning hire ... with the added bonus of watching people lose their shit.40% of the fan base that is on this forum. I kind of have my doubts that this forum is a good example of a microcosm of Hoosiers fans.
And they could then eat it after IU starts winningI think BM would be a winning hire ... with the added bonus of watching people lose their shit.
Exactly. I'd be happy with him from Day 1, but there would be many exploding heads around here ... initially. I'm here for that. And they could then eat it after IU starts winning
Oh I think you can get a big name with the money we have. It's just big names iu won't touch.I don’t think it’s a case of ****ing it up. It’s simply not that easy to find the Next Big Thing. An already proven coach isn’t coming here, regardless of what people think. So you’re left rolling the dice on Some Other Dude.
I winder if IU would consider Brian Wardle from Bradley. He turned around Green Bay and now Bradley.Oh I think you can get a big name with the money we have. It's just big names iu won't touch.
Just not sure we can continue risky hires anymoreI winder if IU would consider Brian Wardle from Bradley. He turned around Green Bay and now Bradley.
