We had a guy get caught making “weapons of mass destruction” in a hotel this week and booby trapped the door - which blew when the cops came in. He wanted to plead guilty during his arraignment today, and the court entered a not guilty plea anyway, until he gets a lawyer. Bond was set at $200,000. . The anti-bond folks are still silent. They face lawsuits here after guys they bonded out engaged in further acts of violence against innocent citizens.
I wouldn't go near the place...

Hopefully this will be a great opportunity to roll them all up both in Europe and here at Home...

You should go if it's a trip you were looking forward to taking. If it's a work trip you are looking to get out of, don't go.
What has happened in the last two weeks should have zero impact on your decision (unless you want to use it as an excuse to get out of work trip and are working for someone gullible).

Booked a year ago - for when bride retired.
Decided 2 weeks ago to really go - because daughter is getting better after her husband passed.
Basically the war is my fault.

I don't see why you would be less safe there than here. Iran isn't threatening sleeper cell attacks in France like they are here.
If you want to see something much more impressive than the Eiffel Tower take a train over to Zermatt, Switzerland, walk the village and look up... The Matterhorn makes anything man made pale by comparison...
If you have time spend at least 2 Full days and nights and explore everything that can be reached by Cog Railway and Tram(s)... *Pass on going up and over into Italy unless you have unlimited time. the trip will probably just give you a dose of Altitude Sickness and Cervina is boring in comparison to Zermatt...*
There's plenty of decent lodging with good food... My preference is the Monta Rosa (where Whypmer stayed when he was in town between climbing forays). The food is excellent and the staff friendly.
There's a small climbers museum with the actual "Broken Rope" of first Matterhorn ascent that's a interesting worthwhile visit (the front desk can give you directions to everything...)...
The Klein Matterhorn Tram station viewing platform is a Not to be missed spot...;that's at around 12,500 feet (approximately) so since you'll have no real acclimation, keep your visit to under 40 minutes, preferably 15 minutes max on the platform then head down (via Tram)... The view is worth the trip/effort...

I just came from there. Had a great time, and its completely safe, so definitely go.
Tried something new this time. I decided to rent a bike to get around. Go with the Lime bikes. A touch expensive, but they are pedal assist so you won’t break a sweat at all. It was great, and riding a bike transformed my idea of Paris. But a huge warning to you. The Bikes are quite heavy, and unwieldy. But you wouldnt know it because the pedal assist keeps you from realizing how heavy the bikes actually are. They lull you to sleep. And I know this because i had an accident. I got too close to a sidewalk and tried to hop off. Because the bike was so heavy, it took me down and I likely broke a couple ribs, along with a crushing blow to my ego in front of hundreds of people. So, I still highly recommend riding the bike, but be careful.
Also, the Notre Dame has been reopened, and it’s packed. But still well worth the visit. Generally speaking, the town is jam packed, but the cheese and red wine is worth the many inconveniences.
My DO just came back from Italy vacation, first-timer, loved it. No 'social issues were mentioned.
Same here. I'm going to Portugal in late August and it never even occurred to me to be worried about being there. That said, I looked at that site and Portugal is a level one. I don't have any hesitation at all.No hesitation for me. I’ve been to much more worrisome places.

Agree on the ebikes. I was just in Chicago last Wednesday-Sunday and rode around on Divvy bikes a bunch. They're definitely heavy - but they're a great way to get around.
