Whatever happened to that possible grad transfer from Akron who could shoot the ball? Can't remember name.

Painter recruits 7 foot Bigs and 3pt shooters. His formula works
It's kind of reversed over the years. IU always had guys who could light it up. I don't know when or why they went away from that game plan. Both teams are looking to add a tranfer grad for that role.

It isn't that Archie doesn't want 3 point shooters, or grad transfers. Grad transfers have a hard time getting into IU, so don't look at Archie, look at admissions.

I can't believe some of you really think Archie doesn't want 3 pt shooters. I'm just shaking my head.

Yeah, unlike every other coach in the country, Archie has decided that 3 point shooting is not necessary. It’s also my understanding that he is considering rebounding and assists to be highly overrated. So don’t be surprised to see the recruiting strategy to be guys under 6’4” with poor court vision who cannot shoot. Archie just doesn’t understand b-ball as well as some of the basement couch dwelling analysts on this board.

Well then we are doomed at least next year. A team that shot last in the conference in three point shooting is not going to improve enough to made a big difference with the same guys. There are no pure shooters on team. Green is the closest and most of you guys say he is a cancer who should sit on the bench.

I think the plan is to try and secure one or two of the last remaining 4-yr players ... LQ, Wat, etc. if that doesn’t work, last resort is get a one-year grad transfer or maybe two.

Not to be negative. But I will be surprised if we bring in anybody else. We don’t seem strong with anyone at the moment. I guess that could change.

I’m guessing the staff has feelers out to grad transfers - a lot of the grad transfers want to see how things play out too with HS kids.

Both parties probably acknowledge they are contingency plans, but I bet some kid would hold out to maybe play at IU.

I would think IU adds one more player. Some how. Some way.

Remember Debbie Downer from Saturday Night Live? You sound like a Debbie Downer in every post. Are you such a loser in real life? Must be exhausting to act so pitiful.

Your mom?

My mom could flat out fill it up but I think she is out of eligibility. At 88 she has also shrunk to about 4'10" so she would likely struggle with the physicality of the big ten. Plus, all her metal artificial joints would keep get from getting passed security at assembly hall.

Yeah - but I love her shorts!

No lights out guy, but Hunter, Rob, Al & Green could all shoot 35% or better.....Franklin might, although you don't want to have to count on a freshman. If all goes well, we could be middle of the pack in 3 pt shooting. I don't want to count on Damezi, 'cause I don't see that happening.

That said, should we have gone hard after a proficient 3 point shooting grad forward? Seems like a no-brainer.
