Growing up in Bloomington, he and his twin, Tom, were everything we wanted to be. Part of the Hurryin’ Hoosiers.

NBA all-stars.

Maybe before your time, but they were Indiana basketball.

Can still see the large ad poster in Whitesides, a Bloomington institution, with both of them in sport coats and ties. I’m surprised it wasn’t illegal back in the day, before NIL.

Sad

Could never tell Dick and Tom apart, except when they were in their uniforms. If they had ever pranked us, the only ones who would have been able to tell the difference would have been their parents. They were co-Mr. Basketball their senior year at Manual High School in Indy. Had remarkably similar statistics over their three years - this was before freshmen were eligible - at IU, before graduating in ‘65.

We were in the same graduating class. We are starting to fall. John McGloklin with the Vans were a formidable group. Enjoyed watching them during my time at IU.
