PU loses Ivey, Trevion, Hunter, and Sasha. Does Edey try to go pro? Next year is going to be a rebuilding year for PU. The opportunity is there for IU to turn the series around.

IU loses a bunch of guys after this late season debacle. If you think Purdue is rebuilding, IU will be in a complete phoenix-from-the-ashes mode next season. Plus, the coaching intelligence factor is not in IU’s favor.
Yeah they'll be fine. They're basically like Wisconsin. Even when you think their talent is down they will still have a good year.
Without some major transfers we’re going to be a dumpster fire next year. Like .500 overall bad.
Painter and Purdue have only finished outside the top 3 in the Big Ten twice in 8 years. And one year they were 4th. They have a lot better roster than us next year with what we know now.

TJD is looking more and more like a 5 year player, unless he transfers out. Losing Race will hurt, from my perspective, he's been a glue player and true, hard ball player. I +think+ Edey will be back for Purdue, we will have some good young guards, not Ivey types, but sometimes the Ivey types can make running the offense more difficult to do on a consistent basis. If Edey, Gillis, TKR, Furst are all back it is a pretty solid frontcourt. Purdue will need a younger guard or two to step up. In the transfer era though, you really just don't know anymore year to year what a team will look like.
It will be an attempt to rebuild to be sure. They better win in the tourney because their fifteen minutes will be up after that.
Gerinimo will equal Race's numbers. Should be able to offset what we lose with TJD by replacing Stewart and Kopp.
We did that under Crean. Woodson will have much more to work with.
He has some shooting coming in and a couple of high potential kids in Bates and JG that he can mold.

Do the math. Most likely every starter is gone. Today they scored 91% of the points. Until proven otherwise we have to assume all five graduate or leave leave. And no tjd is probably not coming back. I know some of you think bates and geronimo are just going to slip into starting and and be beasts. Thats going to be some massive jump. Gunn is shooting like 36% in HS... that's not translating as a college freshman. 28% 3pt shooting for JHS. Where are the shooters again?
I have a feeling there are many others on here like me, but I really just don't want to hear anymore about "next year". Show me, period.
More interesting to me is how this season concludes as I think that will be a factor in who wants to come back (tough to speculate on next year when we could return everyone or lose 7 guys).
Yogi Ferrell shot 30% his freshman year. He stepped it up to 40% and maxed out at 42%. Pretty big jump and it isn’t uncommon to see that. Oladipo was 20% his Soph year and by his Jr year was 44% on higher volume.
Guys develop and work on their weaknesses to improve. So nobody on this board knows how things will turn out, even after we know who the team members will be for next season.
