Well, Idk what happened at Varsity Villas, but Walnut Knolls mid to late-80’s was the place to be. 3 years there were great times, made great memories and Great friends. Any Walnut Knolls alums from those days on here?

Close. Lived in a house on 19th street. My college roommate and friend still talks about buying it for the memories.

C Building here. Went by there about 5 years ago. Not sure when it happened, but was weird to see they had taken out the full wrap around walkway on the 2nd Level and made the upstairs apartments walk-ups. Probably tired of all the drunks falling over the railing. Almost happened during a fight outside our place one night. And a guy I met years later as an adult, who lived there a few years before I did, once told me “my first wife fell over the railing one night. Didn’t phase her a bit. She got up, kept drinking!!”

I lived there my senior year '80-81'. The place was a blast. Hosted a helluva party for the national championship game. We brought in a full console tv from a buddy's place ( lowered it from his apt. into the trunk of my car with a rope). Quite the party to say the least - and only one of many that year. It was all made better by the fact that I had only one class on campus the second semester after finishing student teaching.

I lived at 8th and Grant (Plantation North) the two years prior to that. Had a great time there as well. Met lots of good friends there, including my wife. I always tell my students that I would not be interested in living my high school years again, but I would damn sure do four more at IU.

It looks like the this staff is serious about upgrading the talent level on the wing.

So..........were Dennis and McNeil offered visits mainly because IU wasn't sure what JG was wanting to do? Seems like their non-offers line up pretty well with his announcement..........This scenario would leave open the possibility of going after a last-minute 5-10M/game big if TJD leaves for the NBA. Possible?

Non offers? What are you talking about?

They absolutely have, and in the case of Dennis, still has a offer.

Just because McNeil chose Ohio State doesn't mean we didn't want him. We only can bring so many kids in for official visits in a year. You don't waste those on kids you don't want.

And Dennis is still very much in play and some think we're the likely landing spot. We'll see what happens.

Edit: we just offered a 2023 wing, so your non offer theory is pretty well blown up here.

Well....I thought I read that, but I can't find it anywhere.

I'm not sure what is going on with Dennis. He had said he was going to release a "final 5" after the IU visit, but he hasn't done that and has since deleted his twitter account. I had gotten the impression, perhaps mistaken, that he had visited, had really liked IU, but was put 'on hold' in some fashion.

Edit---I'm pretty wsure Dennis visited 1 other school, but haven't seen which one.

Clemson.

His stock has risen. Texas A&M has jumped in. Kansas is sniffing around.

We want the kid. The offer is valid.

I suspect if we don't get him, we'll still be searching for wing talent for next year. Like I said, we just offered another kid from the 2023 class. It's safe to say, Woody isn't satisfied with what we have there.
