Sampson owns Painter

his players have great instincts, have been taught well, and execute
Eh, little bit of a mixed bag. The inbounds play for the win was obviously brilliantly executed, but the last 5+ minutes, where they let PU get back into a game they were completely out of, was some of the most braindead offensive play I've seen...aside from the vast majority of Woodson's four years, of course.

I mean, just terrible. There were at least five straight possessions where they just dribbled aimlessly around the perimeter until there were five seconds left on the shot clock, and then just jacked up a shot. If they ran any semblance of an offense, this would've been a blowout. Put it this way, while the Vols aren't quite the defensive juggernaut that UH is, they most certainly can score while also locking you down. Had this been UT-PU, it would've been over at halftime. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait until the Elite 8 to see that. The good news: there should be a lot of seats available for Sunday, if anyone would like to see a great game live.

Sapmsons offense leaves a ton to be desired. Thst is a purdue team that in last 2 months is not a top 30 team based on analytics. Tennessee as a 3 .5 dog seems crazy. After last 2 years i hope Purdue fans realize how hard it is to win 1x much less 5. I know Devries blueprint will work in big ten. I hope he gets enough skilled dudes like Duke this year or Uconn last year to take on some of the ultra athletic teams out there come Sweet 16 time and beyond.

60 pts isn't getting it done.I don't care how good of defense your playing..
Teams are scoring in this tournament.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Tennessee win.

All SEC Final 4 still possible.

The BT needs to get its act together. It looks like we're heading in the right direction as a conference, but we don't do shit in the tourney anymore. PU last year being the exception.

No champ since Mateen Cleaves?

But we were 8-0 in the 1st round! we cheer. 0-25 since the turn of the century in NCAAs....

Hard to believe, isn't it? The BIG has had plenty of chances since 2000-8 times the runner up I think? Of course, none of those 8 were even close games except Wisconsin collapsing against Duke in 2015.

Easy to say. Play brought defense to the pass. Guy throwing it in, is forgotten a lot.

The play design was beautiful
I like an athletic big on the inbounder. I'd rather disrupt the pass and play before it has a chance to develop and hurt me. Inbounder seemed like a big; I'd not have had Smith guarding him anyway. Maybe TKR, Heide or Colvin. Either of the freshmen too, they seem to have good defensive instincts and are a little longer.

that was an ugly game. Sampson has no offense once they get into the half court. They play hard though on d and rebounding.

PU of course is blaming the refs
I’ll admit that was a bad non call call on the Houston push off at the end
I will blame Teddy Valentine.
Until his last breath on earth

Was proud of our boys. Thought we had lost our legs down 10 with 10:00 to go; a lot of character and grit. Had a chance....

Thought it was a great college basketball game with respect and sportsmanship on both sides. Felt like players respected each other on both ends. Certainly one of the best games of the tournament.

Will look right at home in Mackey:

Purdue was not a championship caliber team this year. There's no shame in taking a #1 seed twelve rounds and losing by decision - somewhat literally.

I'll take that banner along with our character and program; and the silent satisfaction knowing we are a nationally respected program and that Indiana basketball has gone from agony to outright desperation.

But behind your keyboard...you know all this.

Now carry on with your not-so-witty posts. None of them will change the truth. But I know it makes you feel better and mental health is important.

Triggered a little bit??? Purdue did show up yesterday. I would think you wouldn't be so bitter.
