S&P has the Hoosiers at 7 wins...

With our schedule, does 8 wins get to top 25? Probably not, but maybe a meeting with one in a bowl game.

8 wins...ahhh there will be wigs on the green at seasons end I fear...

The same guys that run IU down every year to calls of they are idiots...but pick us to win 8 games and they are right on. What they say will have no connection to how we end this year.

Dude...relax.

Also, it's a computer model, not some guy talking out of his butt.

Cry me a river. How about you write the editor and tell him he and his inputs are garbage. Let him know your disdain for such material and fake news of mere numbers are ruining the world. Good lord. Take a deep breath, it'll all be OK.

Thanks for sharing...who really cares about the accuracy? It's fun just to read various projections knowing full well that they are just educated (or semi-educated) guesses. Who really knows how many wins IU will end up with in 2018? So much depends on timing, injuries, luck (or bad luck), the zebras, and how the ball bounces. Maybe this will be the breakthrough year and IU ends up with 7 or 8 wins. Hope so. POTFB!

Yeah, you have to take these projections with a grain of salt. I remember we started the 2015 season 4-0 and during the telecast of Game 5 (our close loss to Ohio State), the announcers predicted an eight win season for the Hoosiers. We proceeded to lose six in a row, but were able to pull out the last two to achieve bowl eligibility.

That said, the fast start enabled us to salvage that season, and we need a fast start now. One key difference is the 2015 team was devoid of a defense, which is not the case now. For that reason, I think a long losing streak like what we endured in 2015 is unlikely. In any event, and looking at the short term ... go IU. Beat Ball State.

Actually, 8 wins was a pretty good prediction at the time of the OSU game in 2015, even despite the defense. We biffed the Rutger game which should have easily gotten us to 7 wins, then we took Mich into overtime, and were without Sudfeld/Howard against an otherwise beatable PSU team, where IU's defense actually played respectably, but couldn't stay off the field because Diamont/Cameron couldn't sustain drives.

That Rutgers game was a disaster!
