I know rumors, conspiracy theories and a lot of tweets from "insiders" on X or posts on the BTB are BS ... but my curiosity has me wanting to hear why the coaches office was not available to CDD (is that his official online forum name now?) when he was hired. He did say in the Hoosiers Connect interview he was working out of a makeshift office, so there is some basis to the rumors. Feel free to add any other great things you have heard behind the scenes from ex players, coaches, family etc.

The forum needs some new information to spend all day scrolling through ... coaching searches and transfer portal tracking is hard work ... we as forum readers need some entertainment on the side.

Don't know, but it might just be as simple as giving Woodson more time to clean his stuff out, the staff time to refresh (repaint?) the office, Devries time to figure out what he wants in the office, and the staff time to set it up like he wants it. That may be more than is necessary, but brackets weren't announced until the night of Sunday, March 16. It's only been a week or so since Woodson knew his days were officially done and no games left to be coached. Devries wasn't announced until March 18 and he had to hit the ground running; probably not a lot of time to set an office up.

The more I read about DeVries...its becoming more and more apparent that he's a detail hawk. My experience with people like that, especially very high achieving and successful ones, is that they can be VERY particular about their schedules, routines, ENVIRONMENTS, all that.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised if Woodson, and his staff, took metaphorical craps on the office carpet on their way out...but I think more likely is DeVries is having certain things put in to his office...that was different from Woodson. Anyone know if Woodson's office had its own meeting space attached, Audio visual equipment? Whatever it may be, I'd guess DeVries is very particular about those sorts of things.

I agree about "he's a detail hawk" ... I will never forget one of the photos posted of Cig's desk with a dark sky outside his office in the early morning hours, a detailed list of things he wanted to do. I knew then things were going to change in IU football.

I wonder if this post from the other day has anything to do with it? For what it's worth I've been posting stuff in that that thread - maybe it has some of the rumors you're looking for?

I guess if Powell doesn't consider IU, that's a sign he and DeVries probably didn't end up jiving all that much this season. But from his pure basketball side, he'd be a great pickup. Bummed if he's not considering IU, on the surface. Yeah - the tweet is from the Portal Report and the list...

Thanks, man. I used to check the boards of this old, long-gone site called Pro Sports Daily and it had message boards for all of the professional sports team. I'm a Bears fan and during free agency and other big events this one poster just posted tweets from various accounts. That's all he did and I thought it was the most entertaining thing ever. LOL.

Yeah, it's interesting hearing the "talk", though. The conversations, what's being thought about and/or hoped/wished for, etc. Like the UK stuff about possibly trying to poach Smith from Purdue. Just interesting reading.
