Rumor has it Woodson's "coached" his last home game

What's Trilly Donovan say? Wasn't he big on last year's dismissal story? That ended up instead bring an extension. Man he had people buzzing and then the big oh f&ck.

Just my unfounded opinion, Woody still has the remainder of the season. In all likelihood, he's gone at that point. Of course, if something really unexpected happens....

It will play out how it plays out.

4 losses in a row with two 25 points losses might have been enough. The opponent is favored up until Penn St. Some wins here or there will be enough to slow the firing down unless they think an assistant can turn it around and make the tournament.

IU is 5-3 in conference and Woody just showed he can still win a game. It takes a total meltdown to get replaced midseason, and this is not close to bad enough to make a change right now.

He's still got to be done end of this year though.

Not yet. 4 in a row punctuated by losses at Mackey and Kohl might do it.

🥸

This is the text. Brushed it off and saw you clowns talking about it.

“Between you and I, I was told this morning by a reliable source that after the Ohio St game tonight that Woodson is done. He's going to step down for "health reasons". Supposedly Woodson and the assistants already know, but not the players. You heard anything like that?”
Wow! So I now know about the coaching change even before the players! How exciting!

Watch, IU will ahve another miracle performance @ NW and win, then hold off Maryland at home to go to 16-5 7-3 and all the rah rah fans will be like cheering snd because of this, IU will keep this coach just barely. That's how importsnt last night was to lose. I know there are those who say they never cheer for IU to lose, well good for you. Enjoy the shit show another year then. Anyone with common sense knows the best thing to do right now is to see them tank just enough so Woodson will become *sick* and step down so that Dolson can start the search immediately. Thats how important last night was and these next two games are.

Just limping into a solid finish like last year and that will be plenty enough for the DA powers to be to have just enough to want to keep this lame duck. Go ahead, do what you wish. Enjoy living in the moment so the Hoosiers can suck for another 12-24 months. I'd prefer they lose out and big! But this is coming from someone who doesent watch them play anymore except the highlights so I'm not a real fan like Willdog, LLIU77 etc.

If what’s being reported is true,...

Things like this usually aren't. How many stories like this have actually been reported first on a message board? If this was true then some hint of it would be reported in the media by now. Unless we really believe that anonymous board members have better sources than actual journalists.

Not saying you are wrong, but we are not living in traditional medial times. This board is akin to X. Things happen in real time and I don’t think reporters have any closer access to information to insider / regular joes. Insider regular joes could not post information prior to social media because they did not write for or were employed by a media company. No longer the case. You are probably right and I don’t put a lot of stock in things reported u til it becomes official. However, usually where there is enough smoke it usually turns out to be true. Time will tell with this one.

When Woodson strolls out onto the court for the Maryland game, then you'll know. I'd be betting on him being there.

That's because he's going to be one of our country's 90 oligarchs.

Oligarchs don't need to play by the rules, CA. Sure as shit don't need to sign contracts!

Our country is learning that if you put men on a pedestal re money/power, they change then take the pedestal for good.

I see dudes w "we the people" tats and I ****ing laugh. You the people just made yourself minions w a 10 word language.

Only the little ones like you and I have to worry about things like contractual obligations, CA.

Me, I'm enjoying the brain drain. Been destroying brain cells for decades, anyway. Looking forward to retiring in the Villages w a life supply of Brawndo.
That’s a lot to unpack bro but hope you are having a good time destroying brain cells. With the Brawndo you are probably still the smartest man alive. :)

Last year was not a solid finish. They played themselves out of contention, lost to Penn State and a brand new coach, at home, then tried to convince people that they would go on a big run in the BTT to make the tourney, and got slaughtered by Nebraska.

To the DA decision makers at IU, it was a solid finish. Ofcourse it wasnt to us.

Last year Iu began the big season 4-2 we know how that ended..

The only way this OP is correct is if behind the scenes MW has agreed to step down. It’s all been negotiated, and the idea is to have him resign with an agreed upon timing, and he could do it with as much face saving grace as possible. Maybe, if this is the case, one could also understand MM liking that one post?

Im skeptical. I’m not sure that any heat that we see (booing, etc) is going to result in him looking for an exit, but I see him hunkering down, isolated and as stubborn as ever.

What is changing, is that the criticism is increasingly shifting from the team and coach to the coach. That is a predictable and necessary development. Frankly, I am not concerned about the future of the players. They have Europe, the portal, D league, whatever they want to do after this season. CMW needs to be in the spotlight, not the team. These players "playing better' will not transform this program. The culture needs to exit with the coach. If Woodson is retained, I won't be alone in washing my hands of this nonsense.

At least according to the premium board. 2/26 against Maryland is the next home game, by the way. I hope it's true, but what's true at 1:00 may not be true at 3:00...
“Legit source”. But that was said years ago and Brad Steven’s was guaranteed our next coach.
I remain skeptical. Hopeful but skeptical

Firing him now puts a big program's name out there that we are going to be hiring and gives all coaches the chance to let IU know they are interested. It also gives the school time to prepare and we are hiring first, so should get our choice. This season is a wasted one anyway. I think it's going to happen and he's going to be gone, but I don't think it makes us look any worse doing it now.
It also lets recruits know there will be a change coming who is interested in IU but not playing for Woodson.
