Romeo Romeo where for art thou?

Celtics got 97 of their 105 pts from six players - sure seems like a healthy Romeo could really help!
anddddddd they won and are 10-1. I think having the best record in the NBA, they might think what they are doing is working. Now if Romeo played 20mins a game you really think that would be the case?

Every single reply from Celtics fans seems to think he is not gonna work out, every one lol. Strange how people outside of southern IN feel that way.

What is going on with him? I thought he was recalled to Boston? Never played a minute then he played last night for the red claws and got hurt? When did he get sent back down? I would wager he does not get to 100 points for the Celtics. Does not fit the team at all. You know try super hard, have emotion and be scrappy as hell like Marcus, Kemba and Tatum. Celtics are my favorite NBA team and there is not way he can get on the court. Was one of the dumbest picks Ainge has made. Doesn't make mistakes often but Romeo as the 14th pick was dumb as hell.
ok?

Playing defense!

If the Celtics are your favorite team, you are surprisingly not very knowledgeable about the fact that the Celts have some of the smartest and savviest basketball people among their basketball ops folks, like Ainge and Stevens. I’ll go with their risk assessment about Romeo’s potential future rather than yours.

Celtic fans are the exact opposite of IU fans. There are never excuses, ever. No1 is happy in Boston, go look at the twitter comments on what I posted. Stevens "boy genius" has long warn off and many are questioning if he can get it done as an NBA coach. Everyone is questioning Ainge on the pick. No1 except people from Indiana think Romeo is going to be a good NBA player. No1. Go read something not on an IU board.

You have a very weird hatred of Romeo.

Psssst...by and large, sports fans don't know shit, especially when compared to those who make their living at it.

Romeo should be a sophomore. He needs to be stronger, more physical, better shooter, and learn how to play something other than spread floor offense.
It is a clear case. Talent isn't the issue and no one ever said it was. The hype machine is not reality with nearly all of the high school stars.

Well, it's quite an honor to have an NBA caliber talent evaluator on the board here. What teams have you worked for, or do you offer your services for free? Obviously, the Celtics don't listen to you.
How about acquainting the board with your credentials for assessing NBA talent, just so that those of us who like to know who is commenting can evaluate the comments we review?

I have none. But you know who probably does? Those who work in the front office of the Boston Freaking Celtics.

Looks like Romeo is making the best out of his opportunity this weekend. I love how many of his critics have made up their minds on his pending NBA failure only on a half of an injured NBA season. Prove them wrong Romeo!

Nobody cares.
He was here for a split sec, and even on top of that it feels like he only played half a season.
Its hard even considering him a hoosier tbh.

I really hope we dont have to hear about Romeo umpteen years down the line like weve continued to hear about Crean

Man, I hope we hear about him for 15+ years. The best thing he can do for IU is to have a productive and long NBA career and keep touting his IU roots, as he seems to have done. Sadly, that's probably the case with most OADs.

You cared enough to respond. JS Romeo is a model ambassador for our Hoosiers!

This is some next level stupid shit...The kid is a great ambassador for the program and a Hoosier through and through

Remember that documentary years ago where a couple of Celtic fans kidnapped the star player of the other team so they could win a playoff series? I have never heard of an IU fan doing something like that.

This is also some next level stupid shit. 3-4 great articles from Boston are out right now about Romeo. Tatum with a great quote last night

He’s no Eric Gordon. And EJ thrives as a ‘complimentary wing player’.

I don’t know how he will do. I just don’t see him reaching EJ’s level. I could be wrong.
To be an effective guard in the NBA today, you need to either be a great shooter or a great passer. Romeo is neither.

Let's hope that a healthy wrist allows him to improve his outside shooting...

Anf yet the nba will blame everyone but themselves for drafting him lol

They will not be blaming anyone; they will be bragging to everyone. He has the perfect body to play sg and he has NBA athleticism to play as well. He just needs to be an ok shooter to open his driving lanes, and there were no one better in draft better than him with finishing a play.

He's young and gifted with good size. With his athleticism, he didn't have to shoot too much from the outside, just enough to keep them honest. I think he'll work at his shooting and master it. I just wonder if he'll work as hard on the defensive end. He doesn't seem to have the passion for that end of the floor. But, he's at the right spot to develop it. It would be funny if Romeo and Carson became the starting backcourt in Boston in future years.

Given your creepily weird obsession with him, you would collect every negative thing ever written about him. I would like to see you post those 40 to 50 articles questioning Romeo. Post away.

What do you think is more of a weird obession, me talking about Romeo on an IU board when a topic is up about him or you commenting on every comment I make about the player?

You suck as a poster. You look for anyone saying something bad about IU or a player and then question that person. You dont even give stats or arguements related to basketball. You just say things like "you are not even a IU fan, I think this is your 19th sn, you are so emotional, or creepily weird obession"

Shit gets old bro. Come up with some basketball talk or just get the F out. No1 cares about who you think is an IU fan or not.

See I don't know if you are trying to make a joke or be serious. That is bad that I have to question that.

Yes you are correct that he has 14 points, but you know that he has been injured most of that time. What is your point then? Coach Stevens believes that Romeo is talented enough to earn playing time and that speaks volumes of his trust in Romeo.

He is a lottery pick, he is gonna get a lot of chances to play. Considering Edwards and Williams have a ton more playing time this year and were both drafted behind him. Taco might beat him in points scored this year.

Lets see the articles, but since you will not produce them let's look at the facts.

Injured during the summer, injured during camp, sent to the G-League to get reps and get healthy. Turns Ankle. Now finally healthy and he shows the skill. He has the complete backing of the franchise and is getting props from his teammates.

Carsen Edwards was sent to the G-League because he was literally ruining the Celtics offense.

"More troubling, the team’s offensive rating plummets to 94 during his floor time and the Celtics own a net rating of minus-3.1 during his 236 minutes (Boston’s offensive rating is 114.5 without Edwards, with a plus-9.6 net rating in that span)."

This is the best among several correct answers above. Compare to rehabbing a pitcher in the minors.
The difference between Romeo's situation and a Major league Baseball Player Rehab is that a baseball player on rehab is usually someone who has had some measurable time on a major League Roster or major League Game experience who needs to work on timing or building Arm Strength to be able to return to the Majors to play at full capability. Romeo is like the guy who in baseball who is stuck between the Major Leagues and Triple A. Not enough playing time at the Major League Level to be an established player, and playing at the Minor League Level to get playing time experience as well as to recover from injury. If this were the NFL he would be on the player development squad. Enough potential and ability to spend time around the big team and learn through practice and repetition, but not enough experience and consistency to be on the playing roster.

FYI - Romeo is getting some playing time for the Celtics right now against the Raptors. Enjoy

When you get proven wrong, you have to back track. There is no reason for you to keep trashing Romeo. He’s gone. Also, Edwards has been called down to the G-League recently, and is shooting like 33% on the year. You’re dumb, and now on my ignore list

You for sure struggle in the real world.
