And you’re wrong again. You have to have knowledge a mile deep and inch wide to excel in those complex areas. That’s not what the vast majority of lawyers are doing. They’re drafting wills, fixing tickets, and filing eeoc claims. Most lawyers are average joes. Nothing special. However Jr was one of those lawyers doing complex shit. Those lawyers are incredibly bright. That is complex stuff in a world of extremely bright people. Top of their class from the best universities defend those corps. You and aloha know zero about that world. That’s not your neighborhood Bloomington lawyer

As for the Russia war machine let’s see if other countries step up more. We’ll defend ourselves etc but again maybe we don’t need to be the world’s cop

People can be quite accomplished in specific areas with very high IQs. Look up Bobby Fischer. Doesn't mean he was not crazy. To my knowledge, Fischer never loaded a bear onto his car to dump it's body in Central Park. Fischer never claimed vaccines cause autism, never said the 2004 election was stolen by Bush, that genetic engineering to target races was involved in COVID.

The rest of the world IS pumping money into Ukraine. A lot of money. There is a myth that it is only us.

i follow him on instagram. i have no idea what transpired with that bear but he is all in on animals and that stuff. much of his stories are devoted to wildlife he encounters. and he might be crazy. but we aren't all or nothing. he may still have useful ideas and a critical approach that we haven't been seeing, certainly as it relates to food processing, ag, etc. he's built like a brick shithouse. we are a fat nation and much of our problems stem from same. it certainly exacerbated covid.

and again he applied his trade in a very complex area. you seem to just think of lawyers as lawyers bc you and aloha just don't know any better. it takes nothing more than discipline to show up at your local shitty bar driven law school graduate and go work for hte prosecutor's office then hang a shingle defending drunks and thieves. doing complex torts is exceptionally difficult, and complicated work that is typically defended by incredibly bright people who have excelled in school and are being paid a fortune to NOT turn over hundreds of millions of dollars.

a bit of license but read a civil action if you're interested. it's not far off. in-house defense just presumed that schlictmann was a harvard man

The US will not attack a nuclear powered nation, it is why Iran desperately wants the bomb (and a country we still haven't attacked, not even after the hostage crisis). It is why we do nothing about North Korea. It is why we turned a blind eye to Pakistani support of OBL.

So for some reason, he fully supports a Russian war machine. If you are as smart as you were telling Aloha you are, you would see that other countries can have war machines too.

The US used the same justification in Bay of Pigs, Cuba was a prelude to a Russian attack. We were wrong to do that, and we pulled our support. Unfortunately we should have stopped the Cubans landing and did not.

Cuba and Ukraine are very similar analogies. Cuba presented as much risk to the US as Ukraine to Russia.

Ukraine in no way changes the fact that Russia dwarfs our nuclear total. We won't risk that. Hell, we didn't risk it when we had the advantage. We did not bomb China in the Korean War when they had zero nukes, and you know Mac was begging for them.

Ukraine poses no risk to Russia. Except one. Tied to the West, her economy might greatly improve . Her people may become happier than the Russian people. It might force Russia to open up. That scares people who prefer totalitarianism.

The last thing propagandized people will face is how badly they have been bamboozled.

Germany, the former industrial engine for the EU is decimated. The 'traffic light' coalition has dissolved, and the next election cycle will likely see the despised AfD gain even more representation. The EU can no longer bully it's members into submission. France and Macron are neutered, as is the tissue tiger UK.

I almost pity the stupid fvcks who have spent nearly 3 years swallowing the rancid projectile lies of the jingoist neocons whose legacies are buried in a million fresh graves in Ukraine.

I suspect Jr's take on the conflict has as much to do with his son, Connor, as it does with any actual insight he has into the conflict.

Not trust. I’m not convinced our history is the best way going forward. I’m not sure being a bit more protectionist won’t be more prudent. I don’t think there are clear answers. I also don’t think most people have any appetite for self dealing Cheney types. That politician profile is dead.

You said feckless, banding Ukraine is feckless. You actively want to make the sacrifice their people has made to be for naught.

But you never answered the question. Putin's excuse for the invasion is a sham. Ukraine could not invade Russia, NATO has never invaded a nuclear member and the risk is far too high. Therefore Putin is just making a naked power grab. Somehow you ignore that and pretend that isn't it.

So go ahead, name all the nuclear armed nations attacked by NATO.

The government’s role is to determine whether they are safe, & I for one am glad it’s being challenged. The fact that pharma has been the biggest contributor to PAC’s is troubling to me.
