Ridicule me, all you want.

I'll stick with the player's..
They must spend a little to much time at K on.K.
And not enough time in the gym.
If we only had two guy's That could give us three to four three's a night..
We'd be a solid tournament team.

But their is 0, and I mean 0, doubt in my mind, that Steve Alford can do a better job than this.
I'd agree, I've said before we should do that and hire Dane Fife and Mike Lewis as assistants for contingency plan. I don't know that Alford would be the right path to immediate greatness, but he is the right path back to consistent top 20 status and tourneys

UCLA isnt a good fit for a guy from New Castle Indiana. His New Mexico teams were like top 10 good.

They were never close to top ten good.

He only made the tourney 3 / 6 years at NM.... and he won two NCAA tourney games total while there.

Iowa must have been a bad fit too? Or what's his excuse for years and years of shitty teams there? (Only 3 tourney apperances....and ONE NCAA tourney game won in 7 seasons).

Alford sucks ass as a coach....he has a long track record to show it.

8 of his 19 years coaching he has put a worse (per KenPom) team on the floor than what Archie has done this year. And that includes 7 years at a Big Ten school, and 6 years at a Blue Blood.

Alford lost twice in the first round as a 3 seed to a 14 seed as well

I'm not off the Archie bandwagon yet.

It's obvious he has weaknesses/limitations as a coach........but I still think he would be very successful here if he didn't have this uniquely terrible roster. What we've seen the last 2 years is a situation which has spotlighted his weaknesses/limitations and, for the most part, hidden his strengths. I do think he should either repay $1M of his salary, or agree to have a couple of toes amputated to appease us.

God help me, but I think with this mentally-challenged roster Crean might have been more successful..

The problem now is.......this year has been a disaster, and Archie's running out of time. He was right when he said 'drastic changes' have to be made. Now, unfortunately, he seems to be backing off that conclusion....

Don't know the extent to which the 'Bill of Rights' and APR considerations limit Archie....and no one else seems to know either.....but if it can be done it needs to be done.

Some of the Best talent in the country comes out of the state of Indiana every year. I would think parents, who remember Alford and what He and his father have accomplished in that state. I would think these parents of top instate players would be thrilled and listen to having a Alford sitting in their living room and recruiting their child. Guess im wrong. IU fans seem to think these days they have a lot of options and are considered and looked at as a top program. Delusional in some ways. Maybe bringing back a HS and College Indiana icon would open some of these doors that have closed. Or you can still believe BS and his wife want to return to Indiana because she hates the NBA and misses her family. Ughhh. Good luck.

I haven't given up hope Billy Donovan will be the coach. LOL

I could see BD taking a look at IU. UL is out f2f or him now. RP wouldnt allow. Billy will return to college. The Thunder have become draining and boring. Cal will be at UK longer then he says. Billy wont wait that one out. IU would be a great fit for BD. More high profile then UF when he took it. That would be a great get for IU. And realistic in my opinion.

I'm sure coaching the team with the 6th best record in the NBA (3rd in the West) is really boring him.

Surely you have to have noticed that the problems here go well beyond our roster....which 1) isn’t as bad as you make it out to be, and 2) already largely consists of Archie recruits (particularly if we consider Durham, Smith, and Moore to be at least partially his...which is only fair).

I’m not yet off the Archie bandwagon, either. But I’m not making much of an effort to defend him. He simply has not done a very good job thus far. It’s not just that we’re bad — it’s that we’re punching below our weight and, to date, he hasn’t proven capable of repairing that.

It would make things better if he’d at least acknowledge that the team’s a mess and show some semblance of ownership of and accountability for that.

The dude was 7-6..in year 7...with guys he recruited..none were less than four stars...multiple five star burger boys...losses to Liberty and Belmont.

His team is currently 13-13 in the weakest power conference of them all.

Yeah this post deserves a lot of ridicule.
