RFK to HHS

Kennedy must already be happy with his progress, measles outbreak in Texas and New Mexico.

Note the Texas state health department calls the Mennonite community "under-vaccinated".

And to note it, the Mennonite religion does not have a faith-based argument against vaccines:

What does this have to do with Kennedy?

I’m having a hard time connecting the dots with this particular outbreak.

Saved the best for last.

The caterwalling begins in earnest when he's approved.
Kash isn’t the last. People are overlooking Lori Chavez-Deremer who is by far Trump’s worst nominee. Her hearing is today.

She will likely get through with a fair share of Democrat votes and less than 50 Republicans.

“Donald Trump and the Republicans have re-made the electorate”

Chavez is a thank you to part of that electorate

Kennedy has spread all the stories about vaccines and autism.

The thing is, I don't think Kennedy believes the crap. I think he just found he could profit by going after vaccines. And he has profited, greatly, by his anti-vaxx stance. But it doesn't do well to admit one is willing to have a measles outbreak so they can get rich, so he pretends to believe all the antivaxx stuff.

He also claimed the pertussis/diptheria vaccine causes death. Of course when statisticians look at that, it isn't true.

That one is about 65% down the page.

I get that but don’t see the correlation with the measles outbreak in Texas/New Mexico. Did Kennedy outlaw vaccination amongst this population? Did they say they didn’t vaccinate based on recommendations from Kennedy?

Just his comments. The more people have spread the vaccines=autism myth, the lower rates have dropped. There is no way of saying Kennedy wants these specific children unvaccinated, his words indicate he only wants MORE children unvaccinated.

Anyone not vaccinating their children against measles is an idiot. Anyone advocating not vaccinating children against measles is an idiot.

We're these outbreaks in areas with large populations of illegal aliens?

I would have guessed a number close to zero

By the early 2000s Texas had some fifty or more Mennonite congregations across the state, with the largest populations located in the Panhandle and High Plains and along the Gulf Coast. Texas Mennonites consisted of more than 4,000 baptized members and many more non-baptized children and youth.

How many would it take to have most of 43 cases be Mennonite?

The article said most were Mennonite.

Dude…I said I didn’t think there were many Mennonites in Texas. I never said you were wrong. Obviously, I am not up to speed on location of Mennonites

If any Secretary resigns due to a scandal, my bets are that it will be RFK Jr. or Hegseth:

lmao He's a Kennedy. What did she expect?

The next time the media reports on his indescretions will be the first time they report a Kennedy.

Steak n Shake has decided to switch from seed oils for frying to beef tallow. They cited RFK pushing for more tallow and fewer seed oils. Tallow is adored by the social media influencer set. But traditional medicine still accepts polyunsaturated fats to be superior.

If someone makes the commitment to avoid seed oils and truly follows through and reads labels, they'll end up cutting out all the garbage processed foods as a result.

If they're going to eat steak n Shake 5 days a week because they think the beef tallow somehow make it healthy, that's an entirely different issue.

Speaking of autism... what's up with Barron? I mean seriously, there's something very wrong...

There's an autistic 'spectrum' for a reason - it covers a shit-load of conditions.

The reason it was so low before is that it's only been recognized fairly recently. I'd never heard of autism until I was well into adulthood. People who would have qualified as autistic when I was a kid, we just called weird or different.

I just don't think there is anything causing it that hasn't always been there. But I can be convinced if some cause is found. I just don't think it will be.

Only the best and the brightest in this Administration. Where’s Betsy DeVos when you need her?

If that's your thinking, then you're an idiot on the matter.
Lighten up, Francis. Of course my second sentence is a joke.

But you leftists lose your shit over something like measles like it's always fatal. It's not. I'm all for vaccinating against it - just saying it's not running rampant across the country, killing children.

My original post was sorta in jest.

We've got a shit ton of Amish around here, so I expect outbreaks like this to happen.

You know which houses anAmish around here by who has an outhouse and who doesn't.

In our part of the country, you knew who was wealthy by how many seats their outhouses had.
