Rewind and watch queens eyes in the TO before.

Then under that interpretation, a player can take as many steps as he wants as long as he never puts his second hand on the ball. Just put it on his hip and walk down court.

So let me get this straight, you are a self-professed “respected” basketball official and you’re here to correct everyone on this board? Most of the folks here know a little about basketball. And we’ve watched, played, coached it for 30-60 years. Good luck with that. And although I’m sure I’ll be sorry I asked, but where exactly do you earn all this respect?
Not self professed. More like 22 years of hard work. Where did earn it?

On the floor. In the classroom. At clinics. Want my name? Be happy to pass it long. I've work3d HS and college, both baseball and basketball. Earned numerous awards. Named Mid-South Comferenxe official of they Year(2x). If ya like, I can take a picture , and gladly post, or send it to you.

I've been trained and worked under some rhe best our there. Does that make right?

Nope. But it certainly gives me a bit more knowledge than those who have 'watched ', or followed th3 game---for 30 years.

Correct you? Others? Nope. Just giving you a professional opinion. Take it as you like.

Also--Been named District N Umpire of the Year 2x as well.

Remeber--you asked.

This is so dumb.

Of course he traveled.
We'll just agree to disagree. It's borderline..at best. Go read the rule as when the dribble ends. Your thoughts may change.

Then again, maybe not. But it's been discussed many times. Not one official, not one expert, has said it was a travel. I'll go with those dudes. And of course, the 22+ years I have as an official. And what we were trained to look for.

I’m assuming you didn’t have to pass a literacy test to get licensed? Damn, I didn’t know phones came without spell check these days. 😂

I honestly don’t give much of a crap about your credibility on this topic. I already said I didn’t think it was a travel either, but I don’t much care for anybody around here attempting to speak down to others. And lastly, you certainly did self-profess your “respect” as I’m 100% sure nobody here anointed you. Carry on our newfound God of Refs!

Here it is. The NCAA official video is about 5 -6 mins in. . Since “it’s extremely difficult to determine when he gets two hands on the ball the benefit of the doubt will be with the player with the ball”. What a load of shit.

I'm at work...

Speak down? I disagreed with him, Francis. I didn't 'speak down'.

Your feels are seriously hurt, aren't they.

Why is it a loaf of shit? What if he he's bringing his hands together..you think, 'travel', blow the whistle, and then..

He bobbles it?

If IU hit this shot, wouldn't hear a ****ing peep.

No, I still would have said that’s traveling but the current refs have basically allowed anything goes at this point when it comes to traveling.
About the only travels anymore are a clear switching of the pivot foot. They still sometimes call that but missed often. You apparently can take multiple steps after leaving the pivot foot though. Or the 'looks weird' shuffle to start a drive. Which admittedly is often a travel, seems also called a bit randomly though. Not easy to spot a lot of these though, I'm sure. Wish the rules were enforcement more consistently or redefined so they definitions meet the modern era.

My stance wouldn’t have changed. In fact, I rooted for Maryland to win.

In the NBA..yes
College? Not so much. Does it get missed? Sure it does. But usually nothing egregious.

With traveling, you don't want that to be your best call. Understand how. What. With the rule of 'ending of dribble ' being somewhat subjective, it's become an inconsistent call..at times.

But last night is a great example of having a patient whistle..letting the play finish. Then process it. Very good no call, there. And it was because, he didn't travel. It didn't stand out. To you? Any other casual fan? Yeah, sure. And I get that. But to guys whove been trained..and Understand the intent and spirit of the rule? No...

There it is “The spirit of the rule”. That is the reason people give when they let broke a rule and need an out. Second Time today, the first one was under oath.

Huh? There it is--someone not understanding how to manage a game. Or officiate it. I get it though. We all want the game called to the "T".

That is, until it's our team. Or we have a rooting interest.

The spirit of the rule is a cop out. The more spirit of the rule there is ,the more traveling and palming we get. For me this is why college basketball is hard to watch now.

I am also a high school referee but not in basketball.

It seems to me that it depends simply on when you perceive that his dribble ended and possession was secured Was it with the right foot planted or with the right foot in the air? It's close. If his right foot is in the air, then left foot, right foot, shot is legal. If his right foot is on the floor, then left foot, right foot, shot is a travel.

Again, it's close, even breaking it down frame by frame

It's a reasonable move. Sure it's a walk, but a 'continuation' walk. Good move. Queen made a nice play using the glass.

I saw it on TV in live time and immediately thought pretty much that, that technically a walk but an official would have to be a tool to call that one. Which is why the opposing team wasn't begging traveling, they knew it was good.
