Question for the board on a recruit. My hometown High School has a kid named Josh Filbey who's 6'1 235 lbs and runs a 4.69 40. Due to need on the football team he was played at DT where he recorded 62 tackles, 44 solo, 5 sacks and caused 2 interceptions. Clearly he is not sized for DT at the D1 level, but he's been going to a camp and training as a LB, where I personally think he'd be a beast. None-the-less, no one is recruiting him.

The kid is expected to win State at the 225 wt class in wrestling (anyone thinking Scales?) and has good academics. I've left messages for 2 of IU's coaches and sent an email, all with no response.

The camp this kid is practicing at is called NPA (National Playmakers Academy) in Nashville TN. You can look them up on Facebook. They have about 15 kids already committed to D1 schools, mostly SEC and have a record of producing some good talent. Anyone hear of Tiny Richardson? He was one of their kids. Josh Malone is also one of their kids. The coaching is excellent. In fact Tiny was there the other day giving back along with the other coaches who all played at the D1 level, and some like Tiny who played in the NFL.

I've watched this kids footwork compared to the competition at this camp and he holds his own. No doubt he needs to learn the intricacies of playing LB since he's always played with one hand down, but one of my questions is, how difficult would it be to make the move from DT to LB considering this kids intangibles? I'd love for the staff to put him through the paces. I personally think with a redshirt year and some coaching he could make a huge impact in the middle. Anyone care to weigh in?
