Reasonable Democrat Politicians

Frankly, at this point in history the Dems probably need a middle aged white male as their guy in 2028. Their past 4 candidates were a black middle aged man, a white elderly woman, a white elderly man, and a black/Indian middle aged woman. In 2028 it’ll be 28 years since they’ve run a white middle aged man. The time is right, especially now since there are a couple who can appeal to both parties.
I personally think an Asian trans woman would be a better option. Just spitballing here.

Keep telling yourselves the voters are racist and/ or misogynist and not that your candidates and ideas suck.

I know about it. The feds just cancelled massive amounts of research, I heard more than a few conservatives say government shouldn't be spending on research. Why should Kentucky fund it and not the feds? Why should Kentucky and not Merck? If you do not like Beshear for not funding it, why not anger at the other 49 governors (and president)?

Obviously you didn't listen to Bryan Hubbard. And I am sure you won't.

But since Kentucky and Bashear said no, the project moved to Texas, who just approved $50 million for research.

You raise a good point Marv. I’m a strong supporter of Ibogaine and Psilocybin therapy but would like to see it privately funded.

However, given the regulatory environment that comes with these being schedule 1 drugs, private research funding is near impossible to obtain.

In a rare moment of agreement, we both think Gov should legalize both and get the hell out of the way.

Similar to Covid, imo. No I don’t want the Federal government sending out unemployment checks and passing the multi-trillion dollar CARES act. But the government is also the one that shut down my business in the first place for no reason.

Who are reasonable moderate or little left of moderate a majority of Americans could elect as President? Not the AOC and Crockett crowd.
I do not know of any true real moderate des . They claim Mark Kelly is a moderate but he votes like a far left wing liberal and blasts ICE.

The Dems must find a reasonable woman to run. The No Kings fiasco (allegedly the greatest political protest in history) was a women event. The Dems are hemorrhaging men, particularly working men. AWFL’s are in charge. They have a tough row to hoe. The Dems are in sorry financial shape.

I don’t know if there is such a thing as a reasonable liberal woman, but if one doesn’t exist, Im sure the Dems and their media spin masters can create one. Right now, Im guessing Whitmer.

Dems are ****ed if they don't change course massively.

Who takes up Trump’s mantle? I agree with you that he will be president for 3+ more years

Trump’s tenuous coalition holds together with Vance? Get serious.

Once Trump is gone Conservatives and Republicans will have to have a real come to Jesus moment about what Conservatism and Republicans really stand for. And that probably means losing a Presidential election 2028.

Dems are on life support. Their voting base is old and dying off. Secondly, the 2030 census will be a shift changer.

They desperately need a leader. It’s a rudderless ship. Trump, for better or worse, does lead.

DNC is bankrupt. Is it a coincidence that the USAID spigot got shut off a couple months before? Maybe.

If they run Rahm, I’d vote for Rahm. But he won’t get out of the primary.

I think the Vance/ Gabbard foreign policy views are kind of scary. They’re willing to abdicate all moral leadership in the world in the pursuit of what?

A transactional, capitalist type of hedonism.

The problem with fetterman is he keeps making normal statements but he still 100% votes with dems. At lease sinema held the line sometimes. Mark Kelly is the same way claims to be a moderate but 100% votes with the dems. Its why tester lost he kept voting with dems while claiming to be a moderate in a red state. I did not like mccain but he did break party ranks and dems just will not. If you want to be seen as a moderate you have to vote with the other side on some key votes

Give me Cuban as an independent or creating a new party. Few could pull off giving the middle finger to both the parties. You've got to have a celebrity name.
Beat me to it. Cuban was my first thought. Smart moderate Dem/Ind that gets it.

Democrats have plenty of time to find a reasonable and moderate candidate for president. Furthermore, it could be current sleeper such as Seth Moulton who is a Congressman from Massachusetts.

Granted he took a brief whirl in running for Prez in 2020. This only tells me he is interested. So, he has some fire in the belly for the job.

can we find a governor candidate for once? It’s been a while since the Dems ran one of those. I don’t know much about Bashear, the guy from MD, CT, etc., but there has to be a moderate one among them.

Googly, pretty much agree. but...

Dems must find a popular (don't necessarily mean populist a la Trump) candidate who can come up with simple message such as Make America Great Again.

Trump also built a majority in the key states necessary to win the electoral college which along with solid Pub states gave him a so-called landslide.

At this point, don't see a Dem fitting my bill above, or a Pub who can hold the Trump factions together.

JDB, good point from a historic standpoint.

However, as I've constantly emphasised, Trump as a celebrity/billionaire businessman, has changed traditions. Often wonder why it took so long in retrospect.
