I think that's quite possible. Everyone thinks Trump is going to give in to Putin, but I don't believe he will.

Now, he may do something like prominse NATO won't allow Ukraine in if he withdraws troops. Putin could save some face with that and Ukraine would get what they want.

But I doubt Putin gives up Crimea.
Crimea is Russian and will remain so.
Ukrainian neutrality is one non-negotiable tenet of any settlement.
Russia will withdraw main force combat units from the SMO areas west of Donetsk City, but UKR(NATO) will not occupy these areas. All territory East of the Dneiper River becomes a demilitarized zone.

You do know that NATO completely takes over Russia in the next 15 yrs, right? It's already being written in the history books. Orch's are toast. Sorry buddy.

To be fair, Crimea is a mess, but it is mostly Russian, and will probably remain so. I'm guessing over the past decade it's become even more Russian as Russia has found reasons to ship non-Russians out. Ukraine needs to give up Crimea in any peace agreement.
