Woody talked about how the players are “kids” and that this is so hard on them and unfair they have to deal with this. I don’t get it. Perhaps some players are disappointed (some may not be), but I can’t see how any were surprised. These aren’t “kids”; they are mostly 18 to 23 year old scholarship athletes getting paid handsomely to be part of big time college hoops at a great university. No one died. Many of the “kids” are 3 to 5 years older than men and women serving in the US military literally putting their lives on the line. Life after college will likely have disappointments with careers and relationships. No need to treat these guys like snowflakes.
