Purdue grads flexing over IU's loss

Sooo. If IU is a fake, what does that say about the team that totally destroyed Purdue in their final game this season?
Indeed.
But what I can see over there (now made to look on a Sunday no less) is that they are linking and posting articles from USA Today and other MSM outlining/detailing these non competitive/blowout events brought on by the new 12 team format.
The articles are exhaustive and quite opinionated. And yes - Low fruit for them.

Especially after getting run out of Birmingham yesterday.
But to get on our branch and throw feces at them is a little small. But small we are.

It’s a far more than them.

One of the most Purdue things ever.

Apparently it was all smoke and mirrors and Cig is a fake.

Adorable.
I think Auburn just scored again.

It’s all they have when their own program is a dumpster fire that deserves to be sent to the MAC.
66-zip and the B1G cellar.

I only spent a few minutes over there and only on the FB side, but I would assume they are flexing on IU's BB struggles as well. As you say, IU is all they have.
The Purdue rivals board is a joke that no one post on. The post you are referencing is a thread of like 4 people. I cancelled the rivals membership a month ago after they offered 3 free months. There is minimal iu talk on purdues main board. It’s about Purdue football mostly. Shocked they got Odom though based on what I read here. I was told here they couldn’t afford to fire Walters and refused to spend money.

The IU hoops free board is the same dumpster fire.

I believe PU lost a combined 132-7 to IU and the Lucky Charms soap merchants. Their new coach didn't take Marion with him, which basically negates the hire. I suppose non-playoff teams can yap in their hole if they are so inclined.

How does it negate the hire? He has a track record of hiring young OC’s that go on to be successful. Also brought his DC, ST coach, coaches he wanted and upgraded the rest because he had more money to get the staff he wanted.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

I was referring to the PU Rivals site where there are five or six threads flexing over IU's loss on the first page alone. Less than I expected to fins actually.

"Shocked to get Odom"? Is that the new head coach? Are you shocked that they chose him? Never heard of him, so why do you disapprove?

Courtsensetwo has always had a woody for Purdue.

Got ya. So you are referring to the Purdue board with like seven people on it. Ok.

And I wasn’t shocked. I knew they had the money to fire Walter’s, hire a good coach, and invest at a level needed to win. I’m guessing you told me otherwise. The fired Walter’s and went out and got a really good coach that gave UNLV their best two football seasons maybe ever.

I'd tone it down until results come in next year, as you were giddy as a child when they hired Walters a couple years ago. Surprised you didn't learn from that embarrassment.

You mean a failed SEC defensive coach that failed to bring along the best coach on his coaching staff (including Odom)? Marion was the basis for UNLV's success, and Odom is dependent upon the O staff as a coach. He better hire a good OC or you are going to see Walters all over again. The man hired Walters: red flag.

PU appears to be yapping about IU's SOS when they were in the West division for years, lol. We have seen what happens when they actually have to play the big boys in the conference instead of dodging them for years. Brohm certainly didn't want any part of a non-West division schedule: he GTFO.

I have no idea if Odom works at Purdue. But Purdue has invested a bunch of money and Odom won at UNLV. Where am I wrong?

So it is a red flag that Odom hired Walters who has proven to be a really good DC over time? Terrible head coach, good DC. Both can be true. Walter’s just got the head coaching job to quick. Still think he ends up being a good HC.

You are correct, Marion didn’t come, but he’s had success at finding young talented coaches.

Cute you think the west schedule is why Brohm left. lol had zero to do with that and everything to do with Louisville being his Alma Mater. Don’t act like Purdue routinely beat the west and got smoked by the east.

We told ourselves we couldn’t afford to fire Allen and managed to pull the trigger anyway.
2-losses later, we wonder if we didn’t underachieve in the losses, and whether we can come anything close to 11-wins next year. PU could not afford to let a third winless, BiG season go by. Tire fires are hard to put out.

How is Purdue copying iu’s hire? They made a hire like most schools do. Go hire a coach that was winning elsewhere.
Actually, I don't know much about Odom and really don't care. It just amazes me that you come on this board with a bravado about the new hire similar to the Walters hire and not learning a damn thing. After PU lost about four or five in a row, you were nonexistent here. Now, it's all changing for the better. You do bring an undeliberate humor to this board, so please keep us laughing.

Indeed! And with a new hire, stands will probably be full next year again. Would have been empty without.

I went non existent for a reason. Not because of Walter’s losing. FYI. I’ve not said anything about how Odom is going to win at Purdue or be great. I have only spoken facts. So your post is mostly wrong. And I came with so much bravado that I didn’t mention him on this board for multiple days and still haven’t claimed how good he will be at Purdue.

But even if I came with much bravado, how would that be different than cig stating iu whipped ranked teams this year after going 0-2?

Lol It's changing for the better? This feels VERY similar to Danny Hope to Darrell Hazel situation.

Because Cig won more games this year than PU ever has and beat them 66-0, and you are a nobody on here yapping after a 1-11 season.

I would go ask Santa if you can swap Marion for Odom: may not be too late.

Cool. I’m glad you got to experience this season. Winning football is fun. Why would I want to swap Marion for Odom?

Yes, experiencing more wins than Purdue ever has, beating them 66-0, and reaching the college football playoffs, which PU has never played in, has been great.

Why wouldn't you? Marion is an innovative young offensive coach. Odom is a failed P4 defensive coach, similar to Walters, and Marion is the main reason for UNLV's success. You really want another defensive coach dependent on hiring the right offensive coordinator? PU should have hired a coach with an offensive background.
