Here's the link to the preview article. Seebold will kick the weekend off and will be on the mound against Fordham on Saturday, with Gilley on the mound on Sunday against Harvard. It's a TBD as to who starts against Northwestern on Monday. Link:

In looking at how the teams in the B1G kicked off their seasons with perfect records, USC, UCLA, Michigan, MSU, and Purdue came out unscathed. OSU and IU are both looking for their first wins.

Not all schedules are equal as to the quality of the opponents though and you have to look at the scheduling. Purdue has a history of scheduling wins to open a season.

Purdue went 4-0 against Stephen F. Austin, but started out the end of the first weekend with an RPI of 176 and a SOS of 221 with no Quad 1 wins or losses. Meanwhile, IU went 0-4 with one Quad 1 loss and an opening RPI to the season of 163 and a SOS of 115.

I love to pick on the Boilers whenever I can, but the bottom line is preparing for the conference season, and light scheduling leading up to that does not help a team.
