Can we start with down around where I’m from? My little casino town would sound so great as Freedom Lick or American Lick.

And while we’re at it, South Bend is in the northernmost part of the state. North Bend makes more sense, doesn’t it, MAGAts?!?!

Three threads in one day is nothing. Should have seen the old MTIOTF back when had the time and energy to waste on this place. There would be days you would sign in and the entire first page was nothing but threads he started.

Of course, MTIOTF actually engaged others in those threads, and responded to people who jumped in, which is a critical difference.

Great little town. Love that place. I could spend a week there.

I could spend that much time just exploring the history of the place.

North Vernon is South...
and French Like is not what you think it is...

Having gotten that out of my system, my wife and I love that resort area.. couple of beautifully restored hotels, a casino, the Pete Dye redesigned hilltop course is awesome. Patoka is close, with a great winery there..the commercial area is walkable and safe...the Atrium at the Baden Springs Hotel is beautiful...
Cool train ride concession..
Cocktails on the veranda at the Lick hotel are sublime..

My wife and I happened on this event there a few years ago. Didn't know it was going on...stayed and watched for quite a while.

I watched Colin Montgomerie win the senior PGA on the Pete Dye course in 2015. Stood there on the tee box while he teed off in the final round and followed him throughout the day.

I’ve played that course and the Donald Ross course.

Just a wonderful area. Love that place.

Playing 16 from the tips is insane.

A 300 yard par 3. Never imagined having to pull out driver on a par there, but definitely not getting there with a 3 wood.

Got to spend a little time with Pete Dye up there 10-12 years ago or so. 16 from the blacks came up & he wasn’t a big fan of that tee location & length.

I doubt it. Trump doesn't want to be encumbered by our pussilanimous allies, who can't even fund their NATO obligations properly. They can't keep a secret, anyway.

WWI wasn't caused by Britain cozying up to France, because France already had their issues with Germany. They didn't need Britain to have issues with Germany.

WWI was a war among cousins. The world is a much different place today.

Was in the Dominican Republic a number of years ago at a resort named Casa de Campo
The featured golf course was called Teeth of the Dog, with seven holes running along the rocky Caribbean, redesigned and crafted by Pete and Alice. For their fee, they had a lovely villa overlooking the course, with an incredible view.
If ever given the opportunity to Visit Casa de Campo, jump on it...fascinating place, founded by Cuban cigar magnates who fled Trudeau's daddy in the '50s...

WW1 was not caused by Britain cozying up, Germany lost because that happened. No Britain, the Schlieffen Plan works and France falls in 30 days. Keeping a wedge between France and Britain was critical to Germany.

Our allies are our allies. If we want strong allies I guess we should ally with China. But I don't think you want that. UK and Germany combined spend more than Russia. Their combined population is about the same amount more, so spending per capita is about the same.

Simple math, if WW3 breaks out and we have allies, every round hitting an allied tank or ship is a round not hitting an American round or ship. Just what Putin has discovered, human wave assaults with poorly armed North Koreans still chews up Ukrainian supplies.

Going back to the Korean War. 3730 UN troops died in Korea. That is 3730 Americans that didn't need to be in that position. Granted, no American needed in that position may be a valid point. But once we elected, I am glad countries like Turkey sent troops.

In a war with China, we cannot come close to matching their numbers. The USSR showed Hitler and Napoleon that poorly armed and trained masses can offset technology and training to at least some extent. I want us to have allies because of that. Even if they are spending 1.4%. A Leopard can catch a shell as well as an Abrams.
