TA has told the team who is the starter but won't name the starter. Who starts at QB?
The player I've never seen or the one we saw for part of a season? The secrecy is annoying. The lack of a spring game and no clear favorite isn't a sign of strength. If it is truly too close to call, give them both a chance to play in real game experience and pick the best performer.TA has told the team who is the starter but won't name the starter. Who starts at QB?
If September 2nd rolls around and it’s not Bazelak, that’s how you’ll know we’re ****ed. Royally ****ed and CTA won’t be around much longer. I don’t think it’s likely at this point, but at the end of the day, I’m a lifelong IU fan, so I can’t rule it out.TA has told the team who is the starter but won't name the starter. Who starts at QB?
Tom Allen's not going anywhere and Tuttle is lot better than you think he is...If September 2nd rolls around and it’s not Bazelak, that’s how you’ll know we’re ****ed. Bazelak wasn’t brought in to be a back-up…Tom Allen's not going anywhere and Tuttle is lot better than you think he is...
One lifelong fan to another...🍺
Agreed. He left Mizzou because he didn’t want to be a back up and came here because he knew we were thin at quarterback and his lack chances of starting were extremely high. Would be a huge surprise if he wasn’t the guy.Bazelak wasn’t brought in to be a back-up…
He has ever shown that in a game.Tom Allen's not going anywhere and Tuttle is lot better than you think he is...

I think he showed at Wisconsin in 2020 that he can be a decent game manager. He has ever shown that in a game.
Yes.He has ever shown that in a game.

His top end seems pretty modest, but I wonder if his mobility won’t be an asset in Bell’s offense? Two things seem obvious, though: 1. We’ll need several quarterbacks, as injuries always create a need for solid depth and, 2. Turnovers are killers for any offense, and they’re something we can’t have if we want to improve on last season‘s output. The guy who takes care of the ball will likely be the guy who endures at that position.I think he showed at Wisconsin in 2020 that he can be a decent game manager.
I also think between his ability to March right through OSU on a scripted opening series but also throw an awful pick 6 and miss a wide open receiver in the end zone against MSU shows that he has a tough time making his read progressions. And he certainly would not be the first kid who has that issue.
i'd like to see what jack can do with a competent OC.Tuttle is not good so I go with Bazelak.
He started 11 of 12 regular season games last season, including the bowl-clinching OT win against UF, despite being hampered the final month of the season by a significant leg injury. My understanding is that he was still dealing with mobility issues at the time of the bowl game in December, and redshirt freshman Brady Cook started for Mizzou in a loss to Army.He left Mizzou because he didn’t want to be a back up

I've never read anywhere that he had been relegated to backup status for 2022 had he stayed at Missouri. Link?
He had one before Sheridan.I think Tuttle starts the season but he's going to have to prove himself in short order or he'll be replaced. I am curious to see how he does in the new system.
No chance unless Bazelak is hurt.I think Tuttle starts the season but he's going to have to prove himself in short order or he'll be replaced. I am curious to see how he does in the new system.
Guess you're the one guy on here who's been allowed to view every practice and sit in on every film breakdown from Spring ball thru last Friday's scrimmage...No chance unless Bazelak is hurt.
Are you talking about the 2020 season? Where he played 1 regular season game AT Wisconsin and threw for 2 TD's in a win? Then went to a bowl game over a month later and played Ole Miss? That wrapped up your persistent belief that two years later, he's no good? Why are you say angry about it? haHe had one before Sheridan.
That was also with Sheridan, FWIW.Are you talking about the 2020 season? Where he played 1 regular season game AT Wisconsin and threw for 2 TD's in a win? Several folks around here have compared him to Peyton Ramsey, who was at IU then did his last year at Northwestern. If Bazelak has decent scrambling ability then he sounds almost like a clone.Mizzou fan here. I just wanted to see if Bazelak won your job. He should. He would still be our guy if he didn't transfer. Was injured all of last season starting with the SEMO game when he took a big hit and just did not look the same, even in that game afterwards.
I'd recommend looking past his stats. He has a solid arm, makes really accurate short and intermediate passes. He can do some QB runs when he is healthy.
Struggled some with down field passing. Otherwise, he's a quality P5 starter.
Please beat Nebraska, thank you.
Good point, then what is his drivel about? 2019?! haThat was also with Sheridan, FWIW.
Ramsey was what, 6'1? Bazelak is 6'4.Several folks around here have compared him to Peyton Ramsey, who was at IU then did his last year at Northwestern. If Bazelak has decent scrambling ability then he sounds almost like a clone.

that too. i'm hoping carey and bell can help there.I'd like to see what either QB could do with a competent OL.
I had to check NW's site. listed at 6'2". But I was referring more to playing style and throwing ability.Ramsey was what, 6'1? Bazelak is 6'4.
Watch the MSU game last year. He can't see the field.Guess you're the one guy on here who's been allowed to view every practice and sit in on every film breakdown from Spring ball thru last Friday's scrimmage...
Thanks for the insight!
Anything else you can share...
Good to have a true "insider" onboard...
🙄
So..., there's no possibility he's gotten better between last year and now...Watch the MSU game last year. He can't see the field.
Nothing in the article you linked supports your claim that he would have been the backup had he returned to Mizzou for the 2022 season. After turbulent season, Mizzou QB Bazelak announces plans to transfer
Bazelak started for most of two seasons at Mizzou, ends his MU career with 5,050 passing yards.www.stltoday.com
I just know that Drinkwitz opened up competition for his position and he was replaced prior to the bowl game, and then he announced he was leaving within 24 hours of the conclusion of the game. Are you saying he was going to be the starter and believed that to be true, yet chose to leave anyway?Nothing in the article you linked supports your claim that he would have been the backup had he returned to Mizzou for the 2022 season.
On the contrary, it would make no sense for a guy who was 9th all-time in passing yards at Missouri (with at least two years of eligibility remaining), had a QB rating of 130.9 (5th all-time at Mizzou), a 66.4 completion percentage and a bunch of wins over strong SEC teams to be riding the bench.
Obviously new coach didn't have his back so he bolted.I just know that Drinkwitz opened up competition for his position and he was replaced prior to the bowl game, and then he announced he was leaving within 24 hours of the conclusion of the game. Drinkwitz was in his second year, but I’m sure we‘re both right. You can only pick one guy. We had a similar situation a few years ago and PR left, too. Hope CB can have the kind of reset PR did. Go Hoosiers.Obviously new coach didn't have his back so he bolted.
It looks like CB will back up Tuttle article on the pay side sure makes it seem like this is the way it will be. IU needs 3 very good QBs and I think they have three good ones with a walk-on that is pretty good in games.Drinkwitz was in his second year, but I’m sure we‘re both right. You can only pick one guy.
