So far Penn St having no issues with a mediocre Purdue at Mackey. Archie and Hoosiers will get annihilated in West Lafayette

That sound you just heard? Yet another Big Ten school who has surpassed IU basketball for the foreseeable future.

Golly gee....if we keep saying we are a “basketball school” what are we to do when we find ourselves at the bottom of the pile with all the so-called “football schools” standing on our neck?

We place so much emphasis on basketball that we actually suck at it.

If you don’t realize that Saturday’s game in Bloomington was Purdue’s Super Bowl, then you don’t understand the rivalry.

Actually, when you are 9-1 against your in-state rival, the claims of a rivalry are kind of false. What rivalry?

Shit....I wish IU would start treating one of these matchups like it was a Super Bowl!

Are you implying that we lose these games to Purdue because we don’t treat them like a Super Bowl and simply don’t emphasize them?
If that’s the case, we should forfeit the series.

Purdue’s program is in a better place than ours right now, but that’s not a high bar. They know we are mismanaged due to a series of events following the Knight fallout. They are still little brother, and championships are the only way to change that.

Well, Penn State actually plays defense and guards the 3 pt line. Archie’s packline is terrible.

LOL. Come on, IU is tied for 10th in the Big Ten standings. It is a race to the bottom for the Hoosiers.

True, IU historically has a better program, but the Boilers have been OWNING IU. In fact, it was mentioned during the Penn State/Purdue game tonight that a Purdue senior on this year’s squad is the first ever to win all 4 years at Assembly Hall.

We could only hope that the Hoosiers played with the effort displayed by the Boilers. Call it a Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup, or how about calling it good old fashioned pride. Unfortunately IU lacks that very quality. I hope the situation gets rectified.

“plays defense”?
They gave up 76 points, and pu shot 4-23 from the 3 — that’s more pts than they scored against us and we didn’t play good defense!

The fact that they mentioned that stat in a home game while playing a top 25 big ten school proves my point.

Purdue isn't good enough to survive an abysmal shooting night like great teams are. Stone cold from 3 vs a ranked team that was hot from 3 = loss

This is a trite and tired statement to make Hoosiers feel better about themselves. They've owned us in recent years. If it's anyone's Super Bowl, it should be ours. Not like we're accomplishing so much elsewhere that this doesn't rivalry game matter. One of my goals/hopes for this team: sweeping PU this year (but for damn sure win at home). Scratch.

It’s nice to beat Purdue to keep the chatter down, but the goal at Indiana is to win national titles.

Sweep PU, beat WI, win at least 2 games in the BTT and make the NCAA and win a game. I guess the first one is f'd now, but which of those remaining don't you like for this years team? All would have been improvements, shown progress and moved us in the direction of being the program we once were. So what of that do you disagree with?

If you wanted to break each remaining one of your goals as odds to happen I would say:
beat Wisconsin +110
win 2games in the B1G tourney +250
make Ncaa win a game +350

Better hope luck is on our side, we wont be favored to do any of them.

All the fans I know care little about beating Purdue and even winning Big Ten titles.

Yeah, a lot of people tell themselves that when we're not doing it. Seriously, can you even get yourself to believe that? Winning a BTT has always been a big deal, including when CTC did it. I understand wanting to win NC, but if we're beating PU and winning BTT regularly, well, when we've done those, we're generally in a position to challenge for a NC. Let's get to where we're doing those regularly and then we can worry about NCs.
