Ok, if you really want to consider it “bullying” on a scale of 1-10 it was probably about a 1.5 or 2 and your reaction to it was about a 9 or 10.
One of my favorite T shirts was bought for me by my Daughter, who now curses me for her Bears, Sox, IU Basketball fandom. It simply says 2005 happened.
Not at all what I said, but it is how you twisted it, twice now. It was an igorant statement, but in the scheme of things, no I don't believe it was hurtful. As I said, I remember when there were similar posts on here about tats and dreads, and now I don't think anyone even thinks twice about that. How many kids do we have on our roster with tats or dreads now?
I don't believe what someone said on here about what would RMK have done about painted nails, is condemning a kid to being bullied or committing suicide. If you want to believe that, and tilt at every windmill that is an ignorant, misinformed or wrong statement, be my guest. When I said do you have a mirror it was because considering the source and not letting what others say affect your own temperament is a healthy practice and one you should consider.
Could we keep tats out of this. I always wanted a “Death Before Dishonor” special forces tat but opportunity has never met with a sufficient level of intoxication.
As a 19 year old Marine, one night in 1972 I sat in a tattoo shop in Jacksonville NC, outside of Camp Lejeune drunk on my ass. I was 4th in line as I watched 3 of my friends get their USMC Death Before Dishonor" tattoo. During that wait in line I sobered up enough to say "I've changed my mind".
I wonder if AlohaHoosier (who pretty much disappeared along with Archie) has a hula girl tar that are very popular with Navy vets.
I have a feeling tattoos are looked down upon by "the" AlohaHoosier.

- I understand why he thinks it's worthy of the effort. However, if it's not legitimately for medical reasons, it's simply to stand out from the rest of the team. I love my aunts, uncles, friends, whoever I know that's fighting cancer every bit as much as he does. There are simply better ways to send that message.
- As a former old school coach, the need to stand out bothers me. I am still of the opinion players should all dress alike. It's the primary reason there are no names on the jerseys. IU used to wear the same color shoes. Maybe different style or design, but always the same color. Those days are gone.
- Most men in this world wouldn't paint their nails and go out in public, let alone appear on national TV in front of 17,000 folks. So I remain unconvinced this is a normal currently "accepted" approach.
- Tats and hair styles don't bother me even a little bit. Just play hard and act like you care.
- If players decide to start wearing eyeliner, blush, or any of that other facial crap women do, I'll be here to question their motives.
- Sorry if this offends. But I'll bet the next coach might ask him to tone it down.

The rural South and the rural Midwest and just rural America in general is most of the country.Nothing wrong or substandard about rural America. We could expand the borders of this geography contest to the entire world and we would find its most of the world also.
Rural northeast and rural northwest are not like rural Midwest and rural south at all. Nor is rural California. I’ll give yhe Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. (except the tourist areas.)
How are you counting the rural counties in Oregon and Northern California that are trying to secede to Idaho?
Dude, there are always patches. Think Boebert in Colorado. Oregon is a mostly rural state that votes strongly progressive. It really just comes down to education levels. Rural Oregon is more educated than say rural Indiana, Kentucky or Alabama.

I just picked this at random but it has Oregan slightly below Indiana and California well below. If you look at standardized test scores Oregon and California are well below Indiana. California used to have a stellar educational system but not any more by a wide margin. It is becoming one of the worst performing in the country.

When I lived in Nashville a friend warned me about his high school friends, a redneck crowd, at a bonfire party we were going to. What is your point? Not all bachelor degrees are equal and many that have consider themselves under employed with debt and are bitter. It doesn’t mean you are naturally intelligent nor that you are destined for an accomplished life.
This was never a debate over the value of a bachelor’s degree. Your post is ridiculously non-sequitur.
I said all rural areas aren’t don’t have the same political ideologies. You said the do. From there we were debating whether or not more educated rural areas tend to be more progressive. You said no. My point was correlating education levels with voting tendencies. Your response was bachelor’ degrees don’t guarantee good jobs. From there I have no idea what we are talking about.
I don’t mean this in a political way but the last election was kind of a proxy for this discussion. The contrast between urban and rural counties is stark everywhere-
Yes, metro areas are always more educated than rural areas in any state. That doesn’t mean all rural areas are similar politically.
