Painted fingernails.

I’d honestly be interested in your rationale for stating that. Do all IU grads fit into some narrow little category for you?

I don’t know a lot about IU but it’s a pretty good school which means it will generally generate decently educated people. We know from voting patterns that well-educated people don’t generally subscribe to MAGA principles. Maybe you are an outlier.

Wow. Thanks sobby. I feel better knowing you are actually a simple fool.

Not innocuous? these comments are extremely hurtful and offensive to many. People with this opinion are tearing people down, the #1 reason for teen suicides today. (Bullying, prejudice or stigma, such as relating to one's race, gender, disability...Johns Hopkins). These comments & attitudes are a huge problem today and need to be called out, yes even a bigger issue than IU's coaching/playing issues this year.
His post didn’t actually contain any of that and your reaction is over the top and weird. I’m an IU grad class of 2002 in case you were curious.

Chemotherapy drugs can cause various changes in fingernails, known as nail toxicities. These changes may include:

Discoloration: Nails may become yellow, brown, gray, or black due to the accumulation of pigments or damage to melanin-producing cells.

Brittleness and Ridging: Nails may become brittle, easily breaking, and developing horizontal or vertical ridges (Beau's lines).

Thickening or Lifting: Nails may thicken, lift from the nail bed, or develop a separation between the nail and skin (onycholysis).

Slow Growth: Nail growth may slow down, resulting in shorter or misshapen nails.

White Spots or Lines: Small white spots or lines (Mees' lines) may appear on the nails, indicating temporary disruption in nail growth.

Inflammation and Pain: The nail bed and surrounding skin may become inflamed, causing pain, redness, and swelling.

Increased Risk of Infection: Nail toxicities can weaken the nails and increase the risk of infections, such as paronychia (inflammation of the nail fold).

Prevention and Management:

    • Inform your healthcare provider about any history of nail problems before starting chemotherapy.
    • Keep nails short and well-trimmed.
    • Avoid using harsh soaps, detergents, or nail polish removers.
    • Apply moisturizer to nails and cuticles regularly.
    • Wear gloves when handling chemicals or performing household chores.
    • Report any nail changes to your healthcare provider promptly.
    • Consider using nail strengtheners or protective coatings as recommended by your doctor.
It's important to note that nail toxicities are usually temporary and may resolve after chemotherapy is completed. However, in some cases, they may be permanent or require additional treatment.
What Rice actually said about it was that when he lost his hair he didn't have any way to express himself so he got the idea from a family member. On his left hand, he had the letters "AYN1" for "All You Need is One," his personal saying. His other hand had four different colored ribbons, one for an aunt who had breast cancer, one for his mom's boss who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one for another aunt who had ovarian cancer and one for his own Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Thank you for posting this. That’s obviously very meaningful for him. And anyone with a beating heart would pull for him. I won’t be further distracted by this topic and hope he becomes the wonderful player he’s capable of becoming.

bucket, you were wrong, queer's lesbian's trans and Lucy's have a right to be offended, just say you're sorry and move on

He apologized in the third and fifth posts on this thread…. Before any of the offended people showed up.

I don’t really care what he said but this is dumb. He apologized with a different set of facts lol

Let me make this easy with an analogy.

I say I don’t like (racial epithet) and Fred is a (a racial epithet) so I don’t like Fred.

Someone tells me Fred is White.

Then I apologize and say I don’t have anything against Fred then

By your logic the original statement was fine because I apologized.

Except he didn't use a racial epithet he made fun of painted fingernails. So what. People make fun of hairstyles, clothing, tattoos, etc. all the time. If you're making a fashion statement don't expect everyone to support or endorse it.

The point is the faulty logic, not the soecifics. Whether he said anything wrong or not is up to the individual reader. But it’s a FACT he didn’t apologize for the substance of the original post that some found offendive. Now I know I know you’re going to argue it wasn’t offensive which ignores the point again and make my head explode.

No, I'm not going to say anything more on the subject.
