Outside of Hanner, who was the last IU player from Lalumiere?

Just curious, as a poster below claimed IU was in the lead for Brooks until January, but I felt he was lost from the time he transferred. Players go to basketball factory high schools to get to the NBA. Lalumiere was the school Bowen was at when Pitino paid him. There are other examples. I'd add Hanner and how his career turned out as one reason we have trouble recruiting there (as the whole situation disappointed everyone involved). Then, there is, also, the fact (ironically largely due to recruiting and decline of the program since the mid 90's) the program doesn't churn out NBA players like the Duke, Kansas, and UK's of the world. Anyway, I can't remember any other than Hanner and would like to address some revisionist history. The results on the court had little impact on his decision to put himself in a better position to be a one and done.

Hanner probably the only one. Hanner arrived shortly after LaLu decided to go the hoops factory route and before the last 10 to 15 years they were awful

Hanner didn’t really have a choice. And we don’t exactly produce NBA talent very often so until we do we’re not going to recruit there very well.

Ya KU has 11 In the NBA and IU has 7. Friggin landslide, man!

Douche.
Archie has produced 1 NBA player EVER. Kansas has multiple players drafted most years. This isn’t a debate.

Schools like Duke and UK have 4 times the number of NBA players we do.

Kansas pays their players and Indiana doesn't. Don't compare what IU does with some of these pay for play programs. You are in the minority if that is what you want IU to do.

You have no proof of that. Kansas fans probably think the same of IU. Everyone thinks their program is clean and everyone else cheats.

Remember Kenny Johnson and Chuck Martin?

Err maybe the fact that the NCAA ruled de Sousa inelgible and had to sit out all of last year because you know, it was proven that de Sousa's handler took money from a front man to attend online classes. The proof is in the pudding dipshit.

Who funded it? KU? Not likely. And he didn’t play. Anything else? It’s not like a shoe company paid his dad to run an AAU program or anything like that.

Duke, UK, and Kansas don't churn out NBA players. They are a way station for NBA players that just are not allowed in the league yet. If the OAD rule did not exist, the majority of the guys they are credited with sending to the NBA would bypass school altogether and have no issue getting drafted.

Let's not kid ourselves, Coach K did not develop Zion Williamson into an NBA player. The kid already was when he stepped on campus, he just was not allowed in the club yet.

Not saying KU cheats but they came up in several diff FBI stings last year and are currently waiting for NCAA allegations...so there’s that.

But we get what you are saying. Up is down, black is white, yada yada yada...

IU hired Drew Adams to get Hanner. IU just sucks at cheating. We have cheated since Sampson. We even have reported our cheating a few times.

Bill Self is on record discussing payment. There is obviousness, and there is legal proof. The latter may not come to pass, but it is very clear he was aware of payment being offered to a player.

Crean may have sent Williams away when he caught wind of his williness to play in the mud. It didn't come out that way but at the time I was thinking that even before Williams signed on to UL. Crean was an honest man.

Dollar Bill Self gets who he wants so he can win the Big 12 for over a dozen years in a row. #rockchalkpayout

Who is Williams? Do you even follow IU basketball?

His name is Kenny Johnson. And Crean wanted badly to keep him. Louisville just paid Kenny what IU wouldn’t.

He took money from Kansas?

His handler took money from an Adidas rep (Gasanola) who represented Kansas and evidence was admitted in court about Self and Gasanola conspiring to push players towards Kansas. The NCAA already ruled de Sousa ineligible for last year and he recently won an appeal to shorten his suspension.

You're right. A 5* big man didn't have a choice in where he went to school. Never mind his other main finalist (Baylor) was top 15 level at that point. What reality do you live in?

1. What does Archie have to do with Hanner? 2. You understand his only other head coaching gig was at Dayton, where he had more tourney success than IU has since 2002. 3. I assume Romeo is the only one you are counting, so having a NBA contract doesn't count? 4. I know you love nothing more than to bash IU, but you, seriously, just claimed a 5* big didn't have any choice other than IU....right. 5. How many years has Self been at Kansas? Longer than our coach has been a HC? Oh, I wonder why this comparison doesn't work?

Please explain how hiring a video coordinator who's Dad runs an AAU program is cheating. I think Duke, Kentucky, Oregon, Missouri, (probably every somewhat major program in the country) need to be informed of this rule immediately!
No, breaking a non-existent rule isn't cheating in any way? What IU got in trouble for with Hanner was Adam's ex-wife had an IU bumper sticker 30 years ago. That somehow made him a booster. That said, IU reported secondary violations under Crean. I wouldn't much consider rules the NCAA doesn't punish for cheating (heck, they don't even investigate secondary infractions and they are only found if reported by the university or a coaching staff). So, I would like you to enlighten us on this cheating, please...

Hanner was going to IU from the start. You ever heard of the A Hope program?

He had “options” but he was set to go to IU from the beginning.

Are you aware of any recent IU players whose parents took money from Adidas?

You need to catch up. You’re waaayyyy behind.

Dumb. Romeo’s people worked the system as it is. It’s not quite like offering a kid 30k and a tractor. Lol. But —AGAIN — your douche narrative requires we suspend all common sense and reason. And that’s why only like 5 people here bite on your shit-laden kibbles. Utter bullshit. Your reality tunnel is a dark, dark place...well, only if were actually an IU fan......

And who better to catch me up, than you. You seem to be the most knowledgeable poster on this board. Please catch me up with your wisdom and knowledge. I can not stand to be waaayyyy behind.

So you’re fine with one kid taking money from Adidas but not another? I wonder why? Could it be your bias?

No, it’s the difference between going 65 in a 55 mph zone and going 100. All schools skirt some rules, as they are, some of the time. Some skirt most of the rules most of the time. And in big ways. 100 mph. Bill Self on tape talking to bag men. Lol. But comparing that to AAU funding is dense. Well, unless you see the world in black and white. So, so dumb.

We literally had Kenny Johnson as a lead assistant for years. When he left we hired Chuck Martin.

It’s baffling to me how people can be so biased they think we’re somehow cleaner or have higher morals than any other big program.
