You realize what you're saying here, right? If you are going down that road, then it's only a matter of degree. For a lot of people, they don't mind rape, nasty whores, and academic fraud if that leads to winning.

If you would prefer cheating as a path to winning more, as an alum I would prefer you root for another school. The reason for a lot of the sleaze in in college football and basketball is that too many fans of those programs have no connection to the university beyond athletics. We were winning under Kelvin Sampson and had he stayed we would have been a consistent powerhouse program. Still, I refused to watch and support the program because I knew what kind of dirtbag he was and the kind of shit- for- humans he would bring to campus posing as student athletes. My daughter was in school there at the time and a few of those guys lived in her apartment complex. They gave her the creeps.

As a guy with long and deep connections to Indiana University, I damn sure hope you are in the minority.

You see Ohio State horseshoe filled on game day. A very small % are alums or students. Hell, they have more directional school people in attendance than actual school people. And the rest is made up of people from the people from the state of Ohio that do it as a state pride thing.

If it was U. of Cincinnati that had the long storied football history, they’d all be over there instead. Most fanbases are state pride and bandwagon riders.

That isn't the point. The point is that too many schools sacrifice academic integrity and moral obligation to appease people who see the university as nothing other than a sports factory. A lot of IU fans would be happy to see us cheat and tolerate all sorts of illegal and unethical behavior in order to win more. In fact many are open about encouraging it.

One of the things I am most proud of about being an alum is that most of the other graduates I know and associate with would never tolerate IU taking that stance. Kelvin Sampson would still be coaching here if many of the diehards who have no other connection to the school were in charge.

I doubt Archie has to wait past family Easter or any other holiday to find out how to cheat ar the highest level.
Id actually lean to Archie coming in to IU expecting to cheat like his brother and them running a West-Midwest thing to benefit each other...after all the trouble became too public...Archie has 2 HS seniors willing to come on scholarship to IU

Fair enough. I guess I just see the NCAA as a giant cesspool of cheating and exploitation of athletes. As long as we are apart of it, I want to be competitive. And pushing the envelope is apparently how it's done. If Miller/Allen can become consistent winners being squeaky clean and having FG as AD, then that would be amazing. I just don't see it happening. Hopefully I'm dead wrong and can eat lots of crow.

Archie is the only one of the 3 that I have any faith in.
