DJ Mcarthy just got the FIU special teams coordinator job. I know he can recruit and he and he can coach.
Noah Joseph hasn't landed anywhere I think.
Joseph was actually quietly let go from IU (allowed to find other employment without a public firing) for apparently trying to hide a minor recruiting violation. So I doubt IU would rehire him
They made it look like he got a bigger title and more money to go to Rutgers.
He landed on his feet in a decent spot, so it worked out for both sides. I think because of the bigger title and more money, nobody questioned it too deeply.
Only came to light last spring when IU made a routine public disclosure of minor infractions, didn't mention Joseph by name, but he was the only staff member to leave in that timeframe
Apparently paid for one too many meals on a recruiting trip, which usually amounts to something like a day or 2 reduction off campus recruiting days for a single assistant as long as the meal is repaid. So typically not a big issue, but he apparently made the mistake of lying to the University when it was being looked into.
The main improvement for the 2020 Football Hoosiers should be in the Special Teams as the Penn. St. & Gator Bowl losses demonstrated. It will be critical for CTA to get this choice correct. I'm confident he will pick the right man & this area will be emphasized in practice.
FWIW I would like to see Coach Wright as the Special Teams Coordinator and have him pick a core of 6 or so guys not on the 2 deep to focus on punt and kick off situations in addition to the specialists and designated returners. I believe Coach Wright is a motivator and his focus would elevate our Special Teams. While I am at it I would like to see Moulton move up from the Offensive Analyst position to TE coach and for Coach Allen to seek an experienced coach (like, but not necessarily DeBord) for the Offensive Analyst position.
One possibility for safeties coach is Jason JonesIt's already been reported but not confirmed that Wright will Tight Ends Coach.
Jamie Speronis left IMG also. Would he be a candidate?

We don't have an opening for Safeties coach yet. Joey Jones hired Wommack at USA. He was Special Teams last year at MSU.

But if we do, as has been rumored with Coach Teegarden taking over Special Teams, Jason Jones
https://fausports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/jason-jones/486 might be a good candidate, as has been rumored here.
Yes, and Teegardin will be ST coach.Okay that's the kind of rumor I'm looking for. Did TA work with him at Ole Miss?
Read his bio/blurb, I'd be FOR having this guy as Safeties coach! But if we do, as has been rumored with Coach Teegarden taking over Special Teams, Jason Jones

WOW.Jason Jones has been hired as safeties coach and coach T moves to special teams per sources. Good call whoever made this prediction about a week ago.
What specifically are you basing the “not qualified” assessment on ?Don’t like plugging Teegardin in to special teams. Not qualified
Especially since he has been ST coach in the past at previous schools. What specifically are you basing the “not qualified” assessment on ?

Teegardin was ST coordinator at Valparaiso for 2 years before coming to IU as a GA.People always overlook the fact that Teegardin had a 7 year coaching career at the DII and FCS levels (as a full assistant) before he was a grad assistant at IU
Grad Assistant at P5 schools isn't necessarily an entry level position anymore
Don’t take this the wrong way, but this is funny. In a warped humor sort of way.My dad was an accountant for IU when Corso was the coach and he would routinely violate IU's internal policies with his expenses. He'd turn in personal expenses that weren't covered by IU, or he'd go over the limit on his meals. Nothing nefarious or illegal though. However, my dad is a teetotaler and was a 1st Lieutenant in Vietnam, so he would keep flagging Corso's expenses and not pay them until they were either fixed or the expenses in question were removed. This went on for a few months and finally my dad got reassigned to a new role.
You are probably not qualified to make such a judgement...Don’t like plugging Teegardin in to special teams. Not qualified
