It's always good to report a conference championship for the program. The men's track & field team picked up the conference title in the indoor season.

The women finished 4th in their meet. The men grabbed individual championships in the distance medley relay, high jump, and pole vault (went 1-2 in that one). The women topped the podium in the 3000m and long jump.

Both mens and women's swimming/diving teams finished 3rd in their respective conference meets after winning both last year. The men finished 7.5 points behind OSU while the women were a solid 3rd in a meet dominated by OSU and Michigan.

The men dominated the relay events, picking up conference championships in the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay along with individual champions in 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, and 200 fly. The lone individual champion for the women topped the podium in the 200 free.

The indoor track title is IU's third conference championship of the school year, joining the regular season and conference tournament titles won by men's soccer. IU's only other top 3 finish came in men's cross country.

For those who keep up with such things, IU picks up two points in the Governor's Cup competition with their placing at the indoor track meets. Those wins, paired with Purdue's 2nd win in men's basketball earlier this week, puts the current score at 9-4 in IU's favor. IU needs 1.5 points to claim their 2nd straight win in the all-sports series and their 9th win in the 15 year history of the Cup.
