Against Crispus Attucks at Memorial Gym in Kokomo will be shown on Fox Sports Indiana on Saturday as part of Basketball Day in Indiana. Haven't seen the start time, but it's the 3rd game of the day. The Northwestern vs Peru game before that is before that game is worth a watch also. Northwestern's Tayson Parker is an explosive scorer and if you like break away dunks, he usually is good for a couple of them.

Thanks for the info. I used to live in Peru when I was stationed at Grissom AFB. I also used to live in Kokomo so am acquainted with Northwestern.

Near the end of my senior year at Northwestern in '02, we were playing at Peru and one of our players went after a loose ball and dove into their student section. Words were exchanged between him and some students and long story short, our JV had to be escorted out of the back by Peru's AD and assistant principal and we had to be escorted out by the principal and a couple of sheriff deputies because some people were looking for a fight and waiting outside our locker room. There was quite a bit of athletic talent in that area that I played basketball with and against when I was in high school:
Austin Parkinson (NW)- played point guard at Purdue
Brandon Jones (Peru)- Running Back at Purdue
Mike Otto (Maconaquah)- Offensive lineman at Purdue and for the Tennessee Titans
Josh Grant (Taylor)- played basketball for Winthrop

And a couple of names Hoosier fans should recognize that were from that area when I was in junior high, Herman Fowler and Jarrad Odle.

I had heard of Mike Otto. I did not know he was from Maconaquah High School. I should know Parkinson because I've always followed IU/PU but the name doesn't ring a bell.

Austin played for Purdue from 2000-04 and I think started for them his Freshman and Sophomore years. He's the head coach of the women's team at IUPUI now.

That's the reason. His first two years we didn't have cable while I was at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, so I didn't see all the games. By the time I graduated and got cable he must not have played as much. Sounds like he is a good guy and has done well for himself.

Peru had all the talent in the world but in regards to football, most of it was walking the halls. I went to Cass and IIRC, all the time they were in the MIC, they never beat Cass in football. I don't think they beat us often in basketball.

Cass was always the biggest thorn in our side in football and it was Maconaquah in basketball when I was at NW.
