OT – can you pass the citizenship test? (interactive, linked)

Didn’t open the link, but I’ve read some of them before. Who was the first postmaster general was one, which was technically Franklin, unless you count after the revolutionary war. The sad part is, i would say 30% of natural born citizens can’t pass that test.

High School "civics" is not what it once was.
 
How do any of those questions impact anyone's ability to be a citizen?

I got 5/10 so I guess I'll be deported any time now.

I know you are joshing. But the real deal is that only permanent residents (green card holders) take the test and they never get deported. Unless they were Nazi death camp guards, etc. Or became members of the Blue Nation. :)

As to the merit of testing, the US government has historically put hurdles in front of immigrants on the path to citizenship. The test is one of them. It used to be that one could not even take the test if one had HIV, or immigrate in the first place.
