Oline

My guess ... locks are Smith at L tackle, Coogan at center and Lynch at R guard.

Probable's are Michalski at R tackle and Benson at L guard based on experience.

Possibles are Barrett beats out Michalski at R tackle and if Evans recovers from his Achilles injury he reclaims his spot at L guard and beats out Benson.

Coogan was a Guard at ND most his career.
The starter got hurt at Center & his backup was forced to play Guard at the time because of another injury to a Guard.
So Coogan got put in at Center, & stayed there for the season when the Guard got healthy, but the Center was out for the season.
So they might see him at Guard if they like someone else at Center.

It should be one of the top lines in the conference with the returners and the additions!

I want to ride into Oregon undefeated!

My guess is:

LT Smith
LG Lynch
C Coogan
RG Benson
RT Michalski

Benson has played primarily RG most of his career so I'd be surprised if they moved him... Coogan played well at C for 13 games at ND so that's where I expect to see him... Lynch was looking like our C before Coogan came aboard so it looks like he'll be moved over to G unless Evans comes back stronger and more flexible than ever when he gets back from his Achilles Injury Rehab...

On paper that lineup looks good...

Yes, those 6 look good with some ?? about Michalski. It seems likely that Bostad can work out the kinks with him.

But man we have no depth with Kidwell and Jones gone. Ajani, Barrett, and Leibfried only played in 3, 4, and 4 games respectively.. To anyone who has watched closely or has heard.....are Lawrence, Fiacable, and/or Verstegen depth possibilities? Of the 6, is Barrett the only one likely to get real time?

You have to think they'll look for another OL in the spring portal.

Barrett and Fiacable have now had a couple of years under Bostad and Fiacable has been around for a while now. Assuming the depth sticks around, those are the type of depth guys you would like to have. You can never have too many good players but I am not worried about the OL. We have room for multiple injuries and can still be in good shape.

My wife and I have started the conversation of attending that game and traveling the Oregon coast for a week. There a bye just before that game. Plenty of time to take in the Pacific views.
I've begged my wife to plan a trip out west to no avail. Panama City Beach or bust for her!

Oh well, I'll proudly wear my Indiana football tee shirt every damn day!

My wife and I did that before the game in 2004. We stayed at Rockaway Beach at the Northwest corner. We also stopped in Florence to view the Sea Lions, but they knew we were coming and disappeared!

Not much of a hiker at 75yo but the views and wine interested us.

If you have the time and the interest I'd recommend this:

If you an extra day or two in addition to that I'd highly recommend you loop over to Timberline Lodge and take in everything it has to offer.

Spend the night and have dinner there (I'd recommend the salmon) and definitely have the buffet style breakfast...

Be sure to have a craft beer up in the bar area and then just purposely wander the entire place..., taking in all the hand hewn artistry... If you enjoy extraordinary stone and word structures of the CCC era, Timberline Lodge is not to be missed...(and say hello to their St.Bernard for me)... You don't need to be a climber or a skier to appreciate and enjoy the place...

By the way, ignore all that stuff about The Shining, the place has a Lot more interesting history than that!

Really good thought. Wonder if tickets will be hard to get or crazy expensive?
Requesting them through the ticket office usually isn’t too hard. I can’t imagine we’ll eat up our full allotment at U of O to where they’ll have to say no to some folks.

Junior really wants to make a west coast trip this year but we’ll have to see what his football schedule looks like. If we do go I plan to fly directly into Seattle, rent a car, and take a nice drive down to Eugene.
