Ole Miss

Idk. Getting in for the sake of saying we got in feels a lot like a participation trophy. After today i am not sure I want in. If we do slip in it is highly likely to be as a bottom seed. So, playing potentially our last game on the road just feels like a bummer way to end the season. That’s my initial reaction though. Maybe I will change my mind.

You're not sure you want in? Really? That's seems pretty much over-the-top thinking to me. Making the playoffs helps IU fb in multiple ways.

PSU’s only ranked win was against #25 Illinois, who was losing to mighty Rutgers last time I checked. Another weak schedule?

Oops. Illinois scored at the end.

If they drop IU too far down then OSU's win doesn't look so good. VBG! Hopefully we get more help today to keep us in the hunt! Thank you Florida!!
Still one heck of a Season!
Now let's beat the brakes off of that Old Train from the North!
Go Hoosiers!

You must not have ever competed at anything in your life.

This is a real bad take.

They just lost.

That basically puts IU in the playoffs

I dont know. If the thought process is "do they look like they belong", what is your answer based on today, the only BIG time game we've played?

We didn't just lose, we failed to compete which is probably the bigger FBS criteria.

I hate to be down, but reality is that the true negative is not the final score but the complete void that was our passing game, which ironically was supposed to be our strength.

"Rourke and company simply could not garner any offense at all, and it didn't get better in the fourth quarter either. It took until six minutes left in the game for Rourke to complete his first pass of the second half...."

Regardless, it's been a fantastic ride and I'm ready for whatever the committee does.

Ohio State is the best team in the country and pretty clearly so. You need to be the 1995 Huskers to go in there and beat them.

You have got to be kidding!
If we make it in regardless of how we got there, who say what, that is a monumental achievement It’s a program defining moment.
I cannot believe the number of people on here talking stupid shit saying things like Cig’s contract was a mistake. where do we go from here, all is lost, Shanahan stinks and we are “stuck” with him. Mind boggling stupidity.

I kinda agree. I’d rather play in the Citrus Bowl than be a sacrificial lamb on the road somewhere. Even the Pop Tarts Bowl would be more fun.

This is one of the worst takes in the history of this forum. Or perhaps the internet.

I get all the assumptions that Ole Miss is out with their 3rd loss. But I would all but gaurantee with how we looked today, that there will be A LOT of discussions and comparisons between IU and certain 3 loss SEC teams, let alone 2 loss.

Lots of football left. Need to drill Purdue or it’ll be dicey, and I wouldn’t be surprised, at all, if a 3 loss team like Ole Miss got in over us.

Today was a bad, bad look.

No way a one loss Indiana is left out for a three loss team. Worried more about Clemson and the ACC getting two teams.

We looked bad. At a very tough place to play against the number one or two seed, if they drill Michigan and Oregon.

Cig says he thinks it's obvious whether we deserve to be in our not. In his presser. What did he mean?

Guarantee it’s talked about heavily. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us fall all the way to “last” at large status.

Georgia dropped from 3rd to out with a much more competitive loss at Ole Miss. My worry is we’re gonna similarly drop like a rock, and the Purdue game will not help us in anyway. A loss at OSU in and of itself is not any cause for concern. How we looked, now combined with how we looked against Michigan…with regards to our CFP outlook…is a huge cause for concern.

I’m waiting to see the revised odds for us to make the playoff. We do have the 12th best odds to win the title right now, with a decent gap to 13th.

It’s gonna be close. Total was very extremely frustrating.

What do you mean?

That was his answer in response to a question about whether IU deserves to be in. I would have answered the same way. He's lobbying, just like the whiny SEC people have been doing for the last couple of weeks.

It is a concern.

Our easy schedule was not say, Colorado's, which is somehow ranked 12th to our 70ish.
Colorado lost 28-10 to Nebraska. We'd be 11-0 if we played their schedule. Yet their weak conference is rated way higher than us playing last years title teams, Michigan, Washington. And the Nebraska team that whipped them?

Could say the same about many big least and acc teams. Boise too, but they didn't lose badly to Oregon. Plus they are a 'name' lol.

I mean he thinks it's obvious we should be in. I pointed it out to those who are saying we aren't.
I agree with Coach.
