It's RHP Pete Haas on the mound for IU and he has an ERA of 5.68 with a WHIP of 1.46, and 15 Ks to 5 BBs. His OBA is .260 and Stadler will be behind the plate. The batting order is Wiggins, Taylor (DH), Dickerson, Stadler, Hanley, Denny (LF), Cerny, Malamazian (3B), and Oliver back a 2B.

It's mostly sunny with a temp of 72 and the wind S 7 mph with gusts to 16 mph.

T1st:

Haas walked the leadoff hitter in a 3-1 count. The runner stole 2nd. Haas then got a pop out on the infield for the first out.

A groundout got the 2nd out with the runner taking 3B. Haas then got a K to retire the side with the leadoff walk doing no damage.

B1st:

Wiggins singled to CF to lead off. Taylor popped up on the infield for the first out. Dickerson popped out to shallow CF for the 2nd out.

T2nd:

Haas faced the 5 thru 7 hitters. The leadoff hitter reached on a slow roller single to the infield. The next hitter hit a 2-run homer to LF to give OSU the lead at 2-0. With the wind blowing out, expect a few homers today in both games.

Haas then got the next two batters on a flyout and lineout. A K retired the side.

B2nd:

It's the 6 thru 8 hitters up with Denny leading off. Denny doubled to right center off the top of the wall in a near miss homer to lead off.

Cerny grounded out with Denny taking 3rd and one out. Cerny hit a liner off the pitcher. Malamazian hit a SAC fly to RF to score Denny and there was no one on with two outs. Oliver who has really struggled at the plate so far this season, Kd to end the inning.

End of 2nd: OSU 2 IU 1

LHP Anthony Gubitosi replaced Haas and faced the top of the order. For the 3rd straight inning, OSU had their leadoff hitter reach, this time on a 3-2 walk.

A FC got the runner at 2nd with a runner on 1st and one out with OSU challenging the call at 2nd, and the out call was upheld. A lineout to 2B got the 2nd out with the runner still at 1st.

A 3-1 walk moved a runner in scoring position with runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

A pop up to Stadler retired the side with no damage done.

B3rd:

It was the top of the order up with Wiggins leading off. Wiggins Kd swinging.

Taylor and Dickerson had back-to-back singles with Taylor taking 3rd on a throwing error off Dickerson's single.

It's the 9 thru 2 hitters up with Oliver leading off. Oliver's hitting slump continued with a pop up out. Wiggins grounded out for the 2nd out.

OSU jumped out to an early lead on a two-run homer but that was it as IU scored 12 straight runs to end the game on the run-rule. IU outhit the Bucks 14-6 and had four homers in the game.

Here are the multi-hit players for IU:

Dickerson - 3 for 5 with a triple and homer and 3 RBIs.

Hanley - 2 for 4 with two two-run homers and 4 RBIs.

Stadler - 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Wiggins - 3 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBIs.

Denny - 2 for 4 and a double.

Haas opened the game and went 2.0 IP while giving up the early 2-run homer. He had two earned runs on the homer and had 2 Ks to a BB and the rest of his slate was clean.

Gubitosi pitched 1.0 IP and walked two batters in that inning with the rest of his slate clean. The two walks did no damage in that inning.

Buhr pitched the most innings at 3.0 IP and he gave up 4 hits with 2 doubles with no earned runs. He had 4 Ks with no BBs, and the rest of his slate was clean.

Seebold pitched the final 2.0 IP and had an excellent outing. He had no hits or earned runs and gave up one BB, with the rest of his slate clean.

IU had no errors, and their defense today was outstanding. OSU was charged with one error.

“IU had no errors, and their defense today was outstanding. OSU was charged with one error.”

Austin Render mentioned this on the radio, too, and that it’s beginning to look better than earlier in the season. Which is much needed.
