There is no such thing as a gimme in B1G basketball. But playing Illinois at Indiana's famed AH is maybe as close as one could get.

Trying to think of something good to say about Illinois basketball. Uh...glad Indiana isn't Illinois. Thanks for the recruits. uh...thanks for the scrimmage?

Illinois likes to pressure...fouls and puts opponents on the line...can't hit...doesn't have a go-to-player...inside defense is not good..but they play hard...mostly...sort of.

Romeo just may have a career night if he wants it since he likes to get to the rim. RP won't play per Archie.

Just hang on to the ball, get assists, and hit free throws. Got to really play to win.

Indiana 81-71.

The key will be guarding their guard 3's and not turning it over. But I don't think they have anyone who can stop Morgan.

IU 64-61.

The days of high-scoring games are over, for the most part. Every game from here on out will be a war, home or on the road.
 
I'm expecting another slow start again. They will be rusty due to the long stretch off. I predict that IU will be down at half but will pull off a 1 to 2 possession victory.
 
Illinois is pretty awful and word is they may be worse than Rutgers. Spread opened with IU -11.5 and it's moving wider. It would likely be more if RP was playing. I haven't actually watched the Illini play this season so I don't know how good their press is which is really my only concern in this one especially without RP. I'll go with the Hoosiers 75-60
 
If Illinois can make early 3's, they will hang with us through the first half. I expect we will recover from a slow start and pull away in the second half.

Illinois seems to play their best against IU. I expect this game to be closer than it should be as this team has lapses with fouling and turnovers. Illinois will have a player that posts his career best scoring night tonight against us. Just hope we can offset it with RL or JM.

It's not good, if they press us, it will be a huge mistake on their part.

Langford is great in the open court, but if they have an effective press, I'd certainly try it... with a freshman PG... all the more so since RP is out.
 
Waiting for Romeo to explode on someone for 30 to 40 points. Tonight might be the night. Especially if he saw the article that the bitter old Illinois reporter with sour grapes wrote, mentioning Adidas and his Dad's AAU Team. I hope the Illini fans dont throw items at his family if they attend the game tonight, like they did to Gordon's family. It's not good to tug on Superman's cape. Thanks to that bitter old man Illini reporter for some locker room posting material. The Illini have not been squeaky clean in the past. Time to bury them and go to 3-0 in the B1G.

78-64 IU. I hope the Illinois team I saw play against Mizzou shows up. They laid down and died in the second half. Their head coach already looks like he wants out. Might be the worst coaching position in the B1G right now.

Mistake by Underwood if they do uptempo the game against IU. Underwood appears to be a "Dead-Man-Walking", losing control of the will of his team, awaiting a total team collapse and then a quick release if it continues.

I would pack a 2-3 zone, hang all over JMorgan inside the entire night, and force Romeo, ADurham and Fitz to hit 3 pointers.
