Official Pacer game thread

17 point lead though is a nice cushion to start the 4th.
OK, now we can celebrate.

I get the impression the Knicks have been sparring with us. They’ve known all along they only have to turn up the energy at home. It hasn’t been a problem for them, yet. I give the Pacers zero chance. If they couldn’t win it with Reggie…

Prove me wrong, Pacers! Even crows taste good to a hungry man with the proper seasonings.
Good call. And Reggie did beat the Knicks in a game 7 at the Garden.

Should be a good series. Boston won the season series 3-2, but the first game was the fifth game of the year and Boston ran them out of the gym. The other 4 were competitive games. Last time they faced off was January 30, and Siakam was in only his 7th game in Indy.

The Celtics have the one fanbase more arrogant than New York’s.
It doesn't matter, but the non-stop Knicks talk during this series was classic sports media. Someone made the good point that other teams that get the non-stop media coverage actually have national followings (like the Cowboys or Yankees), but with the Knicks no one cares about them outside of the NY area.

It was sweet to see them all go home sad after they chanted about wanting Boston, Knicks in six, and seeing old John Starks acting like an AAU dad on the baseline + all their other attention seeking courtside fans.

Boston is insufferable too. But at this point it's all house $ for the Pacers, and hopefully they can continue to play with irrational confidence and shoot lights out.

Both teams it’s all about stops. The offense will run just fine. Halliburton needs to score 25 a game not 15.

He averaged 21.2 in the Knicks series. 1 more than his season avg.
In the losses he averaged 15ish. He can’t do that against the Celtics. They will need his boost. Let’s see if he can do it. I think he can. Should’ve been more clear.

I am very proud that the Pacers had the moxy to go into MSG and beat them in a game 7. As far as the New York talk on tv this is a fair point. They weren't talking about WHY the Pacers were getting so many good looks. That is what they should have been talking about.

Finish the game! LFG!

This female announcer is so biased for Boston. It’s ridiculous. Every gripe she’s had about the game and the officiating, has been in favor of Boston. And when the Pacers make a move, it’s just silence.

Likely blew their chance to make it a close series.

Inbound the GD ball in regulation and you win the game. Middle school execution. Hopefully Nembhard never takes the ball out in any pressure situation again.

@kurt cloverdales how bout that gnat?

You don't like hearing your team called a single adjective all night? You just better not watch ESPN when the Sixers are playing or you'll think you've got an erotic novel audiobook playing.

they had a timeout, nobody separated just a piss poor play and a bad loss.

Halliburton was open enough. Throw it to his hand away from defender. Middle school execution.

Siakam, hold your man off then cut to get open. Dont just cut and allow him to cut with you. Middle school stuff.

Nembhard call the damn timeout if you’re not certain. Or just make a damn inbounds pass. Be a pro.

Youth and inexperience. Learn and move on. Have to call the timeout there. Advance to half court, inbound, foul hit 1 FT and game over

Carlisle getting ripped for not fouling makes no sense to me. The play was a catch and shoot and even intentional fouling was going to be a 3 FTs. Brown made a really tough shot... But the breakdown was allowing the catch and shoot in the first place.

You can't lose a game up 3 with 10 secs left and the ball. But blaming 'not fouling' on Brown's shot is dumb

That was painful to watch.
