Now that college athletes are professionals

Some being on their 3rd school, I doubt if an education means anything to them
It's the "Animal House" Conundrum. Seven Years of my life wasted. Assuming They didn't waste their NIL Money on overpriced cars and pizza, They can always go back when They are ready and pay for it themselves.

I don't know for certain but just from what I recall over the past few years it would seem that most of our players aren't just graduating, they're graduating early..., and several of our Portal guys have picked up or are progressing towards graduate degrees...

Now it may be the case elsewhere, but in my opinion, the "dumb jock" who doesn't go to class type seems to be the exception here at INDIANA rather than the rule...

Do they all go to class...... Probably take a lot of on line stuff and get things of help. It used to be normal to hear about kids getting in trouble for missing class or getting suspended for low grades. This never happens now.
Portal guys take all classes on line. Never leave stadium. Could not find Ballentine on a bet! LOL

With the money some of these guys make at 20 years old... why would they let a thing like going to a class get in their way?
Many don't make big money but the ones that do I doubt many go to classes and do on-line. It is a shame they miss out on what we did standing in line then getting up to the table and find out the class is full often a required class.

I heard Deion Sanders once say that his son Shadeur had never set foot in a college classroom. He admitted he thought that this was pretty sad because kids are missing the real college experience.
And this is one reason I wouldn't make Sanders a high draft pick. He has been sheltered from everything through high school and College. Somebody has always done things for Him He doesn't know how to take responsibility or deal with adversity on his own. This is the type of guy Who can be a PR nightmare and make You look really bad if You draft Him with a high draft pick.

I've heard this is a very weak QB class.

Not sure I agree with that. Shadeur actually seems more grounded than a lot of these kids. Heard him recently saying he doesn't care where he's drafted and that he's just happy to get the opportunity to play in the NFL. Compare that to Ware from Miami who played only the first half of their bowl game so he could get a record and then sat out the 2nd half so he won't get injured. Who really knows though as most of these kids have heard nothing but how great they are since they were 15.

Lot's of players in today's world have never set foot in a classroom, including ours. Yes they are missing the college experience and it is sad for them.

Actually this goes beyond College Athletes in a somewhat different context. A number of business and Professional people I have talked to in the last 20 years bemoan the Social Skills of young people They hire. With Computers, Cell Phones, and Texting (usually in abbreviated English or slang), They don't know how to Communicate effectively. They have spent so much time hiding behind their devices and away from people that They are uncomfortable and don't know how to interact with people in Social situations. Again in large part due to reliance on impersonal devices for communication.

There was an old Commercial that goes back 30 or 40 Years for an Airline. The Owner of the Business gathers His Sales and Managerial Staff and informs Them that They have just lost their largest and longest held client. He tells Them that his old friend and contact at the Client Business informed Him that "They didn't know Who We were anymore". He then says I think I know what He means. We get an inquiry by fax and answer it with a fax. Somebody leaves a voicemail and We answer it with another voicemail. He then informs Them that things will change. He then hands out airline tickets and assignments to each of Them and informs Them They are going out for a face to face with every client so the situation doesn't happen again.
