This is another game where I'm not a fan of either team.

It's a tough game to call. Allar is the better passer and overall QB, but Riley Leonard is a serious threat - - with his legs - - every time he touches the ball.

If Allar has to leave the game for any reason, Penn State will be in serious trouble. Their backup is a a true freshman.

Notre Dame is a bit banged up going in. Defensive lineman Rylie Mills suffered a season-ending injury against us. Another key piece on defense, DL Howard Cross, will play but is fighting through injuries. RB Jeremiyah Love may not be at full strength.

Both teams play very good defense (Notre Dame's game at USC being an anomaly, I believe, and nice job Tom Allen). The teams match up pretty evenly talent-wise. My call, then, will be based on coaching. Marcus Freeman is proving to be one of the best HCs in the game. Since ND's bad early-season loss to Northern Illinois, they've won 12 straight and have arguably been the best team in college football. Freeman is innovative and smart. James Franklin struggles to win the big game.

I'll go with the Catholics.

47 points is too many.

GO IRISH!!!!! Count me in as one who has always worn a reversible jacket. Obviously rooted hard for the Hoosiers in the playoffs but came back to being an Irish fan the next morning. Also would love the irony of an ND/OSU matchup for the glory of ol' IU. However, I'm a Buckeye hater so hook 'em horns!

I will also root for ND. Never been a big fan and do not pay much attention to the domers but will root for them against Penn St. I also think it will be close and maybe come down to someone kicking a FG at the end.

I've got PSU in this one. I think they're a better overall team. Notre Dame's game against us was defined by a goal line pick followed by a 98 yard run.

Granted, at that point the complexion of the game changed because they didn't NEED to do anything to beat us except kill time and keep playing good defense.

Similarly, their game against UGA was a strip sack at the 10 yd line and a KR TD. Everything else was defense & FGs. Historically, FGs don't win big games. If PSU can move the ball at all (and I think they can), I think they kind of cruise.

Right behind IU I've always been a follower of the Bucks. Lived in eastern Ohio as a older adolescent and younger teenager. Learned FB in Ohio and in return taught them something about BB. I spose for a 3rd outfit to follow it has to be our own instaters, ND. They both should advance. Keeping the NC very close to us. IUFB only shines brighter with them in the matchup.

I grew up in South Bend and was a huge ND football fan as a kid, but now I’m squarely just an IU football fan. I still keep a passing eye on them and maybe watch a game or two per season. I’ll be cheering for them tonight and in the championship game, if they make it, but I won’t be too upset if they lose.

I don't like any of the remaining teams. The only reasons I'd pull for PSU is for more Big ten $ and for Allen. ND fball is kind of like IU bball, stuck in the past, so it would hurt to see them get back on top. I guess if O$U wins they're stuck with Day and that's a good thing. Texas is the last choice because they are SEC, even if newcomers to it.

Now people are complaining about ND's schedule with Purdue, Army, Navy and Stanford. But the Alabama fans don't have a problem with Mercer, USF, KY and Western.
Well, ND didn't have any good losses to strengthen perception of their schedule. Got to have a couple.

Maybe if they'd lost to A&M or Louisville, or better, both, they'd be more respected.

I'm actually hoping for a 12 overtime tie and they make tomorrow night's game the defacto national championship game. Texas by a late FG to crush whiney rynney.

If Allar is pressured all game and gets beat up……watch out. They have a severe drop off at QB with Pribula gone., He had this happen at Wisconsin and Pribula stepped right in like a veteran. That option is no longer on the table. I expect ND to pressure him non-stop tonight.
