to the tough 11 game stretch. Minny beat us 7-3 and roughed up Milto on Friday night. Now losing 6-1 this afternoon and we only have 1 hit through 5 innings. Their pitcher has an over 5.50 ERA and we are making him look like Don Drysdale.
I hope Mr Mercer is taking notes off of the other teams dugout. Anderson could give him some good pointers. Minny is a very good disciplined hitting team with decent pitching and defense.
Got to get going.....
Go Hoosiers!

I'm really torn about our approach. Minny plays old school. Get 'em on, bunt 'em over, single them in. We swing like drunken sailors and hope we connect. Last night it failed. Today it worked. Hell if I know the right way to play these days.

Take notes? We go for the series win tomorrow and are projected as either a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAAs. And it's Mercer's first year.

Minnesota lost. People should be banned from posting here until games are over.

There is no "right way" to play baseball. That's just silly.

RBB89, go back and look at Anderson's record at Minny. He is a very good coach who always seemed to have good fundamental teams over his 38 plus years. Yes, Mercer could learn a thing or two from a very successful coach.

You should ask him out to dinner while he is in town.

I was not able to follow either of the last two games. Looked it up, and saw we lost the first and won the second. Then I saw how we won. I can imagine how pissed I would have been if I had followed the games....lose 7-3, and then be down 6-1....I would have probably been on here venting. And Minny is not that good. They were last year, but they are 16-21 with an RPI of 75 this year. (Yes, 8-6 in the Big Ten.) But then to come back and win a game with a walk off 3 run shot, after being down like that? I think that is kind of impressive, and shows some heart. We have to win tomorrow, though. Would be a waste of a huge comeback if we end up losing the series.

Of course there’s a right way and wrong way. Happens about a hundred times or more a game. Bunting with 2 outs and nobody on might be considered bad baseball. Attempting to steal 2nd with your slowest runner might be too. You get the idea, right?

Why do you always default to insults? It’s not extremely becoming. We’re all here because we care about IU. Let’s remember that and act like it.
