No Tax On Tips!

Finally a President that can’t be bought!

Where would this place be? I need a job there. They’d be making 7 digits a year. To answer your question, they could cap it at certain amount.
Manhattan, Miami, Bawston, Mineapolis, Indy, DFW.......... I could go on. I've spent the last 13 years in and out of those places. 5 people, $1,000 dinner. It's real.

I understand what you’re getting at, but your numbers were still way high. There isn’t anyone in Indy making 2 million a year as a waiter. I doubt there is anyone making 200k.

What about those wait staff at higher end places that get $200, $300, $400 tips per table and run 20-30 tables a night? working class?
That's not a thing. You're talking about a table with $1000 average tab before alcohol. If you wait tables in a joint like that, you only have one table in your section, and you'll probably only wait on two different groups there, three if you're lucky, in one night.

Even a good waiter at a very high end restaurant isn't likely to pull in more than 60-70K per year, and that's at the outlier zone. Bartenders have a higher ceiling because they can hit a volume that waiters can't touch.

Ok if you all say so. They may not get 20-30 tables a night, nor do they work 7 days a week I am sure. But I've given, and every one of my 10-12 sales associates, have given A LOT of 2-3-400 tips. Some times, several times a week. As well as our competitors, venders and clients.
But what do I know.

Thanks for typing "A LOT" rather than "alot."

Regardless of how this plays out, Trump shifting the Overton window away from income and corporate taxes and towards other sources of revenue is an EXCELLENT thing for the country.
What other sources are you thinking about? I can already sense the debt climbing like crazy the next 4 years. King of Debt is in charge.

i can remember football weekends btown in the mid 70's.

i'd have maybe 4 tables in my section ( The Gold Rush) and flip them 2-4 times depending....

anything over a $100 was a good night

( and .90 cents an hr. iirc)

What you don't know is what's happening behind the scenes. When you go to those restaurants, every minute your server isn't at your table, he/she is doing something for your table. That's how you get that level of service. When they are getting that much money from one table, they stay focused on that one table.

Do you even understand the math you are throwing around? A $200 tip 20 times a night? That's $40,000 per night! That's not a thing that happens. Not even in server fantasy land, much less the real world.

Check your math.

Oh I am very well aware of all they put in to give great service. No question at all.

argggh... The 2-3-400 are #'s that I know.. good god the 20-30 tables wasn't meant to be like a relativity equation. But I do know they do more than 4 tables, once a night. We've asked several servers what they expect in tips a night. Several have answered between 3k -5k. Not hyperbole, person experience.
My post wasn't meant to be argumentative.

Maybe ultra high end, in HCOL locales. My brother used to make a lot working fine dining in Miami area like 20 years ago. But needed to be very knowledgeable on wine, etc.... Still very difficult
