That should be your #1 or #2 scoring option. .Smith for all he does..
Just can't score the ball.No jumper.
No handles to get to the rim.
This is were Keion Brooks thrives.

I want to know why the hell everyone on this board wants to bring up Smith. He had a very good game. The funny thing is that Morgan was rated higher when he came to Indiana and it took him two years before he started to put it together so give Smith time.

The board usually selects two or more "whipping boys" after every game. It's what we do.

Moran was not a higher rated recruit than Smith. Smith was ranked around 70th in his class ad Morgan was just outside of the top 100

I'm not banging on Smith..
I just saying as our shooting or stretch forward..You should be averaging around 12 -15 point's a game..Be able to knock down 2- 3 three's every game.
He's not junk ..He's a legitimate Big Ten player
Smith would be a great 7th man though. .
It'll be interesting who plays that spot in three year's .
Hopefully its Furst..

Why does McBob always get a free pass??..that dude can't put the ball in the hoop at all! Yet, everybody wants to defend him as a player. Anderson should be getting at least a portion of his minutes.
i certainly thought mcroberts would add some scoring this season. he still brings a lot to the table but i'm disappointed in his offense. it's hurting us. of course fitzner and green have been more so. at this point, and i know this may sound strange, i think green holds the key to a successful post season run. i think he is the only player not approaching his potential. not holding out much hope for that to happen.

Good kid but 22 minutes and no shots even taken. We're playing 4 vs 5 on offense. Bench goes for a big goose egg today. Only scoring from the starting 5. Not sure the last time I saw that. And not sure what happened to FItz, he looked like the difference maker vs Marquette and has gone M.I.A ever since.

Giving Devonte some credit, he's usually a TO machine but none today.

UM only 3 TOs the entire game. When your bench doesn't score a point, and only force 3 TOs ....you are never winning that game.

I've noticed that McRoberts doesn't seem to be as effective this year. He's not the same pesky defender he was last year. I'd guess he's got lingering back issues, but beyond the northwestern game he's really been ineffective.

Smith started the year looking for jump shots and trying to drive from the perimeter and it was clear he does not have those skills developed yet. Now he is back to floating around the basket, making cuts to the rim and others are finding him for layups. It's what he did so well at the end of last season.

He is also rebounding very well and his defense is getting stronger. Hoping he develops that jumper and works on his handle after the season because IU needs him to be a threat next season.

What he said ^
But I just don't expect the jumper or the drives to come.
Hunter would have given some of that.

Is Smith playing the 3?

Let's see . . . Phin/Green at the 1, Al at the 2, Romeo at the 3, and Juwan at the 5 . . .

. . . seems to me that Smitty is playing the 4, and out of position at that. He ought to be playing the 3, and Juwan ought to be playing the 4, and Romeo ought to be at the 2 and Phin at point, but because of injuries and Crean's mismanagement of the roster over his entire tenure at IU, it seems to me that Archie is left with few options but to play Smith at the 4. Frankly, I think he's doing pretty well in that role, as a wing playing out of position as one of the post guys.

Off topic. This morning I looked on Youtube to see if there were any Hatchet games. I happened to find they do have some games online. What a treat to watch a Hatchet game online at the Hatchet House. There was a kid named Hardiman on there. Do you know who his folks are? I knew some Hardiman's back in the day.
