I hope it was a legitimate investigation and it proves Avenatti is lying. If the Williamson claim is a lie, then the claim about Romeo could be as well.
I would be interested if IU had a similar investigation or had some reason to totally dismiss the claim. Romeo not going to a Nike school could be proof enough.
Avenatti challenged Duke to file a defamation lawsuit against him. I hope they do, but he has already been disgraced enough that people don't believe him. I don't see a reason to spend the money to take him to court.
Too bad his presidential campaign didn't get started. Someone that lies like he does would be a perfect candidate.

If you look closely at the language it leaves plenty of wiggle room. Many ways to funnel money. The power guys are really good at this. Only amateurs and greedy guys get caught. Is anyone surprised? Conversely we can’t keep phone records. We chose not to go all in on 21st century recruiting tactics and have paid a price. (Just my opinion.). Hope we have a good year. College hoops is a very slimy game. Just talk to some former players. They’ll tell you. If the powers wanted it fixed they’d fix it. System works too well to fix for the shoe guys coaches top ranked players and universities.
