Not sure your prediction about no Romeo or Morgan will prove out. You seem to be making a couple of assumptions. Not going to get a lot of help from the incoming freshman.

Morgan’s a senior or did he redshirt? Not sure your prediction about no Romeo or Morgan will prove out. You seem to be making a couple of assumptions.

Two 5* freshman won't give any help?
We all have concerns about next year, but don't think it'll be nearly as dire as many are making it out to be.

Because we don't want to think about the meltdown here if he goes to Michigan State instead of IU.Did Brooks commit? Why are we assuming he is coming here?
There are very few freshmen who could come close to replacing what Morgan does for IU. And he is already undersized. Going with a 6'8.5" freshman is not an upgrade.
Add to the fact that Romeo is indeed a special talent not likely to be bested next year either.
Morgan has been special, but I also think he's part of the chemistry problem. As a senior, I expected more of him as an onfloor leader. As good as he is, he's part of the emotionless funk this team has, imo.
I hope that Jerome has a "full" recovery and he gets back to where he was before the injury took him off the court.Yes. Assuming we land Brooks we're essentially adding 3 5 stars. Jerome is that good plus Race Thompson.
MSU lost its 2 best guys from last season without any big time recruits coming in and they seem to be just fine.
I'm not excited having watched quite a few performances by each of the incoming guys. Two 5* freshman won't give any help?

Good point and I remember Archie saying pre-season that Juwan, as a senior, needs to be more of a vocal leader for the team. I haven't seen it, but I have seen him posturing the "bicept bulge" while setting up for defense after scoring two points in a decisive manner. Some people have natural leadership qualities while others only which they do. Actions speak with volume turned up.Morgan has been special, but I also think he's part of the chemistry problem. Freshmen don't have to replace Morgan. Someone currently on the roster can take some of his production. Two 5 star recruits can take a chunk of that and replace people that will come of the bench. Phinisee, Durham, Franklin and Green along with Hunter (at the 2?). I personally like a lineup with RP, Hunter, Brooks, TJD, and Thompson/Smith/Davis.There are very few freshmen who could come close to replacing what Morgan does for IU. And he is already undersized. We have yet to see what Thompson can do and Moore is looking closer to getting on the court. This year isn't done. It would be great if the team was so disgusted with their play that they put forth a good run starting Saturday.
just one if i count rightNot sure your prediction about no Romeo or Morgan will prove out. You seem to be making a couple of assumptions.

I don't think anyone is predicting that either will be a OAD. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, but the odds are in favor of them staying multiple years.not if they go pro after one season
That is why alot of us were being optimistic about this year and making the NCAA. Man if we miss it this year that would be three in a row and next your would be four. Not going to get a lot of help from the incoming freshman.

We have one 5 star freshman last I checked. Two 5* freshman won't give any help?

Is this current team playing with any chemistry or toughness? If IU lands Brooks then they’ll have two 5* freshmen and a returning experienced PG. if Archie can get them to play together and play tough, then they can’t help but be better. Having two 1st team all-B1G players means nothing if you don’t play as a team.As bad as this year is, next year will be worse. Fun times ahead.
They also returned three very legit starters and top fourty ranked recruits in Ward, Langford, and Winston. That will not be the case for IU. If Archie misses the NCAA this year and next his seat will be very hot imo.Yes. Assuming we land Brooks we're essentially adding 3 5 stars. Jerome is that good plus Race Thompson.

At some point Archie needs to recruit some shooters, no?
I mean, he can't keep talking about the lack of shooting and not bring any in.
He was having a great year the last time I checked. He is likely not going to start next year but a player that can become a regular contributor over 4 years. An Indiana kid with a good upside.Franklin is a 3* on Rivals.
Even more reason to have offered Leal at this point. We have got to get some pure shooters and some size or we'll continue to get eaten alive in conference. No doubt. That was a valid excuse last season and probably this season but it won't be next season. If he didn't have enough shooters he'll of had more than enough time to go get some.
It will be his third year so yes. Now crean was still on a honeymoon but I hope we are not still applying that same thinking. No doubt. That was a valid excuse last season and probably this season but it won't be next season. If he didn't have enough shooters he'll of had more than enough time to go get some.
nope. if we get brooks and get healthy, we'll be tough as nails. even if we don't get brooks we'll be fine. Not going to get a lot of help from the incoming freshman.

That comment reminded me of an IU player who never did fully recover. I think it was during the Crean era, out of state kid, shooting guard, I believe, highly ranked, played well early on and then....injury of some sort. I'm drawing a blank. Anyone remember who this player was? Let's hope Hunter isn't one of him, whomever him may be.I hope that Jerome has a "full" recovery and he gets back to where he was before the injury took him off the court.

Thank you. The poor kid had legs like toothpicks, what little there is to recall.Maurice Creek
I hate to say it, but we don't know what worse is, yet.Wishful thinking on your part. Talent coming in, development of Rob plus the injured will dress. It won't get worse. Sorry.
