that said, anything the NCAA or conferences or schools do, they do for their benefit, not those of the kids.

it's not personal. it's just business. right.

not granting transfers effectively ties the schools to the player as well, not just the player to the school.

schools don't want that now.

they'll want it even less when they are paying players.

that said, with NIL, that changes everything anyway.

IANAL, but i'd think holding back a player from a transfer with a large NIL offer elsewhere, could be seen as restraint of trade, and open the school up to a lawsuit.

especially if the player is effectively or literally contractually tied to the school, but not vice versa, as has been the case where transfers had to sit a yr.
