I agree in part. There wasnt a Q&A going on. He inappropriately interrupted.
That said, he then identified himself (there are only 100 senators, and he’s been one for five years), yet the rough handling not only continued but escalated.
Let’s remember too that this was a federal building. Everyone entering is fully screened. There was no legitimate concern that he was armed or otherwise dangerous.
Padilla bears some responsibility for this going south, but agents overreacted and used inappropriate force in pushing him to the ground and cuffing him.
