National Guard to LA

Governor Newsom is Commander-in-Chief of the California National Guard. According to the California Attorney general, Trump's actions violate the state’s sovereign rights and constitutes an unlawful invocation of federal power. There’s no insurrection, no matter how often the orange shit says there is.

An embarrassed National Rifle Association says it totally forgot to do the one thing it has been saying for years it is solely there to do.

“Our whole reason for lobbying for looser gun laws and amassing huge personal arsenals of weapons these past years was so that we could ensure the security of a free state and protect the people from an oppressive government. And then it actually happened, and the whole rising up against a tyrannical government thing just totally slipped our minds, which is a little embarrassing,” a sheepish NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre said.

He said the morale around the NRA has been pretty low. “The guys feel pretty silly. We had our well regulated militia stocked up and ready to go, just waiting for the moment when the Government would turn on its own people. And then the government started shooting protesters and rolling tanks down the street, and we were like ‘guys this is the one we’ve been talking about, let’s go!’. But then something else came up and we forgot to do it. Damnit!”.

Observers were shocked that the NRA had missed their opportunity to defend their country. “I can’t believe it,” one analyst said. “It’s almost as if they weren’t worried about the government at all. It’s as if they were actually just scared of black people”.

There are exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act like supporting federal agents and protecting federal property. Don't know how they're being used yet, but I've heard those exceptions used as justification for mobilizing them.
so are they claiming the protests are happening on federal property? that seems dubious.

Well the Orange shit just had a US Senator removed from the press conference!

A few questions:

Is the reaction re these protests and riots really commensurate with what is happening? Is this really a groundswell of public distaste in ICE agents raiding a few Home Depot parking lots? Or is it being organized?

Are these things just giant photo ops for the political sides? Is the protesting side hoping for govt overreach towards the protestors so that they can turn public opinion against the admin on immigration enforcement? As of now, are most of the bad acts being performed by outside entities (Antifa-types), random protestors caught up in the moment, or staged bad actors by a political side?

It's usually hot in LA during the summer. There's a reason antifa stays out of red states. It ain't the weather.
Are there more riots in blue v. red states over the last, say, 30-40 years? Should be able to figure that out, I guess.

You forgot one: Are we witnessing a repressive regime unfolding before our eyes?

I have very little doubt about this. Newsom would cream his jeans if a DHS agent were to hurt or kill a rioter/ protestor in the middle of the fray.

As it is, he’s using this time to do media hits and continue to soft launch his 2028 campaign

It began that way. Then it shifted to protests against government overreach and tyranny. Along the way, some angry opportunists with no particular agenda other than to do bad shit joined in, playing into the tyrant's hand

Is it being organized?
I would guess that legitimate protesting against Trump Jung Un is certainly being organized, but that the angry opportunists are doing their own thing. I doubt that anything is being staged or that there are paid protesters, to any significant extent.

I don't think Newsom has anything to do with organizing these protests and I don't think he wants to see anything bad happen. I do think, however, that he views this as a political opportunity to contrast himself with Trump.

cities not states is probably the better indicator. summer is here. good to get outside and mix it up a bit. i've seen signs on the gram from free palestine to fck ice to how can they be illegals when this land is stolen. i think goat likely summed it up best in paraphrasing that folks have pent up grievances so when the opportunity arises you rise up and let it all out. like when you're in a fight with your wife and say wait a minute i thought we were talking about being late not xyz. yeah but we're fightin now so let it all out

Just brutal heat. 85 and low humidity.

Located on the USA's west coast and flanked by the Pacific Ocean, Los Angeles has a Mediterranean climate with mostly pleasant, sunny weather throughout the year. Winters and short and mild with average temperatures of 48°F to 68°F, while summers are hot, dry and sunny with average temperatures of 64°F to 84°F.

Lack of fealty to the sovereign, and to the vacuous Barbie serving the sovereign.

The despicable act was [gasp] trying to ask a question of Barbie at an open press conference.
She's no Barbie ... Edward James Olmos complexion when not caked with a concrete thick layer of cover. They're all fake in some way. Shoe lifts, eyeliner, nose jobs, bronzers, hair plugs, living in the closet.. Phony people gonna phony.
