National Guard to LA

Correct. Harris tried to disavow them but her history of voting and rhetoric belied same. She got smoked out as fake.

I thought the left would learn. But instead of challenging the authenticity of Harris’ newfound positions they argued her failure was not leaning into woke enough. And here we are today with AOC

This just shows how little you know on the subject. Once again. The correct dosage of anti depressant doesn’t make anyone a zombie. They also save millions of lives. What century do you live in?
The one where rates of suicide are at all time highs and morons have the temerity to spout off at the mouth about how anti-depressants are helping

Best advice from Arnold. Stallone. Cruise. Etc. Lift weights. Stay busy. Be too busy to feel down. Such a great quote

I am not even sure why we are pretending Pete is a far left crazy anyway. Seems like a fairly middle of the road liberal.

He is gay and took FMLA. oh so scary.
Progressives don't like him. That he polls #1 is actually a good sign for the party (at least for now, I still think the party is stronger with someone like Beshear ending up the winner).

Interesting take, but I doubt AOC could win a general election.
No women, no ethnics, no one from California or Oregon. They should also be hetero, or at least pretend to be like many in the GOP do. The hate machine has been working overtime dehumanizing and degrading all of the above. The goal is to win, not to make a statement about inclusion. There's too much at stake.. Dems have to quit worrying about the 1% to 10% and their causes and focus on the 90%.

You really need to stop with the 'open borders' and 'defund cops' thing. No prominent Democrat - not even the politicians you're claiming are far-left - is behind either one of those ideas now.

This is simply not true. The idea that anyone seriously thinks Harris lost because she wasn't 'woke' enough is revisionism. No one seriously believes that. Bernie Sanders and AOC aren't even saying that.
No one trusts anything the Dems say anymore. Shapiro, for example, all through his campaign for Gov promises to sign a school choice bill. Just give me that bill he said. We all told everyone he was lying and would veto. No no DBM he's moderate. Once in office the Republican Legislature gave him the bill he wanted and he immediately bent the knee to the teachers Union and the woke mob. There are zero moderate Dems. Even if they believe in it they can never govern like it.

"Yes, Josh Shapiro, during his 2022 gubernatorial campaign in Pennsylvania, expressed support for a school choice voucher program, specifically the Pennsylvania Award for Student Success (PASS), which would provide $100 million in taxpayer funds for private school tuition and supplies for students in low-performing public schools. This stance was notable for a Democrat, as school choice is typically a Republican-backed policy. He reiterated this support during a June 2023 Fox News appearance, stating, “every child of God deserves a shot” and that ensuring “every child has a quality education” is a priority.

However, in July 2023, facing strong opposition from House Democrats and teachers' unions, Shapiro announced he would line-item veto the $100 million voucher program from the $45.5 billion state budget to avoid a prolonged budget impasse. This decision came after the Republican-led Senate included the voucher program in the budget, which Shapiro had initially supported as part of negotiations. House Democrats, with a one-vote majority, refused to pass the budget with the voucher provision, and a separate voucher bill was defeated in a House committee. Shapiro’s veto pledge allowed the budget to pass with a 117-86 vote, but it drew criticism from Republicans and school choice advocates, who accused him of betraying his campaign promise and caving to union pressure."

Unfortunately that’s the sad reality.

Not only that, the Dems could advance many of the left's goals with more independent-palatable programs. Everyone loves on-the-job training programs. They survived the anti-DEI crusade. Why? Because they are open to everyone. But guess who doesn't take advantage of them? White guys. They are open to everyone, but in practice, they help close the skills and experience gap suffered in many careers by minorities and women.

There are all sorts of ways for the Dems to support labor, to support the blue collars, etc., and still promote social justice, even if as a side effect. It doesn't need to be their raison d'etre 24/7.

And Dems would win comfortably

It’ll be a calif ny progressive candidate. Shapiro beshear etc zero chance. The far left is the Dem party so if we’re going with crazy let’s pick him bc he is entertaining. I like him.

He’s kind of like a villain. I heard some porn chick was shooting her shot with him the other day.

I really hope trump arrests him

I get what you’re saying, but that level of politics barely registers and is far from disqualifying.

Diversity quotas 😆

Well, you're still stupid, since the diversity quotas they violated ultimately required them to elect at least one male, because there wasn't enough male representation. But they are absolutely using this as a way to get rid of Hogg, which is just idiotic. So you're right to laugh at this, even if you don't understand why it's absurd.

I don't think he's deep down nutty. I think he does what he needs to do to get elected. So he wouldn't be the worst person in the world to win.

He's just a shitty, fake, arrogant asshole. He's doing exactly what he needs to do to compete for the nomination, but it will never be possible to overcome the slime that's inherently a part of him.

Harris didn't run on radical left policies. Obviously it was too little too late, but her messaging on immigration and the economy were way more center left than you're making them out to be. The policies you're railing on of 'the last four years' aren't even dictating Democratic policy now, much less 3-4 years from now.

If the election were held today I agree that AOC and/or Buttigieg would be front runners. And I agree that Jeffries and Schumer don't poll well now. As I said, I believe the party is devoid of leadership. No political polling is in any way accurately predicting the '28 election, much less who the nominee would be.
We know she didn't "run" on them. So what? As her critics argued, she's a politician who will "run" on whatever it takes to get what she wants. And she did run on them earlier and defended Biden's policies, right? These are the reasons she lost.

I can think of a dozen reasons she lost, and defending Biden is probably middle of the list at best.

I disagree. Biden's policies were unpopular and the Republicans successfully hung them around her neck.
Oh, I agree they were unpopular, and I agree the GOP did a good job shackling her with them. But I think there were many other reasons she lost.

Remember, I'm the lib who said at the beginning that Trump was going to win no matter who the Dem nominee was. So I always thought there were forces bigger than Harris at play.

Yep and that’s why they should have gotten someone outside able to distance themselves from it. Goat said that was not feasible bc the money was encumbered. I think they should have anyway but it’s a fair point

If I went in to tell a therapist that I’m sure it would be quite easy to get loaded up on anti-depressant/ anxiety drugs. They never tell you that your feelings are invalid and that you’re being a lazy pussy which is the truth in the vast majority of cases.
This is wrong.

First, therapists don't prescribe drugs. Medical doctors do. Most therapists aren't doctors.

Second, based on your own economic reasoning from earlier in this thread, how would having a drug prescribed via referral help them? It would not.

Third, look up CBT. Read about it. It will make you rethink your last sentence. Don't take my word for it--although I have over a decade of layman experience offering pro bono services for therapist-run outreach programs for men suffering from problems like yours (and more serious ones) and have had to learn quite a bit about about what they do; instead, read Coddling of the American Mind. Lukianoff (head of FIRE, the best 1A non-profit in existence) and Haidt describe the benefits of CBT and how it would help with the current coddled college students that you, and I, are worried about. It's a good book.

Fourth, feelings aren't invalid. If you feel anxiety, it's not false that you are feeling anxiety, is it? The thoughts you might derive from that feeling--your inner conclusion about why you are having it, e.g. because everyone hates you (we don't), though, might be erroneous. CBT and other forms of talk therapy help you identify the emotion in the moment, head off those snap judgments, and hopefully give you space to work out a new narrative about why you're having them that is healthy and helpful (and true!), rather than harmful. If you're doing it right, it's all about utility, not about feeling sorry for yourself.

We'll always wonder what would've happened had the Dems not gone completely insane...no open border, no crazy spending, no lawfare, and no Afghanistan debacle. Might still have a Dem in the WH.

I thought you didn’t fully jump on the Trump train until he got shot.

At least, that’s the first time I remember you definitively saying he was going to win.

Pete is a woke worthless do absolutely nothing talker. It’s shocking to me. He’s the stay at home virtue signaling take benefits and his salary after only being on the job a few months leave while the country was in a crisis. While his administration was telling truckers to sacrifice and work extra shifts.

Our let’s build racial equity into roads. He wants to do a better job of linking black neighborhoods with white. This a man who is as clueless as it gets. Whites left because they don’t want to be linked. They don’t want to be shot and carjacked and have schools that are a mess. They put in metrolink to the city and now it has a station 500 yards from the mall and destroyed the mall. Half the docket for that muni is crime charges from the mall. Fix the crime issues. Fix the conditions that create failing schools and gang culture and criminal activity THEN link up the neighborhoods. We don’t need a fast pass for the criminals to rob our neighborhoods and ruin our communities.

They pump more and more money into it and it does little.

My minion would love to ride the train a few blocks. Just between the west end and Clayton. Open drug use. Gambling. Thugs everywhere. Where are they going? Steal cars. Shoplift at the mall. When the girls want to be dropped off at the mall we drive to west county mall. 20 minutes away. Not the mall a mile from our house. Bc we live too close to the city. And now the shit from the city infiltrates our mall and makes it unsafe for our kids.

Pete doesn’t have a clue about anything. Work. Reality. Nothing.

A climate zealot with the electric bs. He wanted to expand the s. Ct and eliminate the electoral college. Explore “restorative” reparations.

Train derailments he didn’t bother to show up for. Mass air cancellations and air traffic control messes. A supply chain once in a generation disaster he was home breastfeeding for. Where was he on the Biden decline?

This is as worthless as a worker you will ever fine. Talk talk talk talk. Gets to the job and can’t do a Fing thing.

Man shouldn’t be a dog catcher in south bend. The definition of a worthless politician. I have voted Dem more than anything in my adult life. I will never vote for a progressive and anyone even tangentially related to this last whacked out woke administration is immediately disqualified
