Many of you will get this reference: For want of a nail, a horseshoe was lost. Then followed the horse, the rider, the battle and the war.
If Xavier Johnson hadn't been injured for most of this season, IU would have won at least 3, 4, or more games, finished 4th in the Big Ten, made the NCAA Tournament, McNeeley probably doesn't de-commit, and no one would be talking about how terrible a coach and recruiter Mike Woodson is.
But what happened happened, and now the men's basketball program appears to be falling apart. Only if Reneau, Ware, and Mgbako return is IU likely to have a competitive program next year. The future of IU basketball is in their hands now.
