People know I've been on Peegs since the beginning, and I rarely post on this football board. My son goes to Bullis, and I've been filming Devonte for years. All the clips you see on his highlight reels were filmed by me, so feel free to ask me any questions about him.

He is lightning quick and has some sweet moves. For a small guy, who runs very hard between the tackles. He is a speed guy, but follows his blockers and doesn't try to bump it outside on every play. As a receiver, he has very good hands.

I have no idea if how well he can play at the D1 level. I have heard some talk that he might end up as a safety or somewhere on the defensive side of the ball, and that wouldn't shock me. I could also see him as a 3rd down back as well.

Bullis is one of the best football programs in this area. The WCAC is the best in this area (schools like DeMatha), but it wasn't like they were pummeling local public school teams.

The clips I filmed are legitimate. He had multiple breakaway TDs in every game, and some of his moves are ridiculous. Definitely one of the fastest kids in this area.

Just thought you guys might want a first hand account.

Thanks for the report! I expect he'll play all over the field

Some at RB, some at WR, and some at KR/PR.

Yeah...Are you SURE you didn't PHOTOSHOP some of those runs...?!??

I mean, I don't think I've seen SO MANY long TD runs on a HS reel at any level before...!!!

What impresses me is his "vision'.....yeah, OK, he has great speed, but so many guys have speed but just plow straight ahead (Marcus Thigpen at the college level at IU comes to mind) and can't/don't make that split-second decision correctly, as Wiliams seems to, to break away (as Coleman could).

IU loses not only their All-American speed-guy/bull to the pros in Tevin Coleman, but also their "outside" guy in D'Angelo Roberts as a graduating senior. In the Missouri game - IU's best victory last year - Coleman ran mainly inside, alternating with quick pitches to Roberts on the outside, and it was powerful.

I think IU could definitely use Williams at RB, while sometimes spreading him out at WR as someone on this thread suggests.

I look forward to seeing Devonte playing BIG Football (home of the National Champs) next year....!!

Re: Yeah...Are you SURE you didn't PHOTOSHOP some of those runs...?!??

He is amazing at this level, but I'm sure there are tons of guys with similar highlight tapes, so I have no idea how much of an impact he can/will make it.

I assure you those clips are not sped up or doctored in any way. There is one I remember where he hit the 2nd level, planted his right foot, and then switched so quickly back to his left that the safety fell down.

By the way, he is related to former NFL DB Shawn Springs (the son of the late Ron Springs), so the bloodlines are strong.

Thanx for the info! Yeah, I'm really impressed with Williams' 1st

cut that he makes on a lot of his longer runs. Very quick, very decisive, one of the better sudden change of direction cuts I've seen in this class actually. His breakaway speed looks legit too, he consistently outruns guys that have an angle on him, looks like speed that will hold up at the next level. Might have gotten a bit of a steel with Devonte Williams.
